Where to watch rhe Portsmouth -v- Man U game?

Postby sunluvr » 03 Aug 2008 16:08

Me and OH are heading back to Icmeler for the 2nd time on 8 August. (So excited). There are 5 in our party. One of them is a huge football fan and she fully intends to watch the Portsmouth -v- Manchester United game on 10 August. It's her first time in Icmeler and I'd really like to take her to a place where it would be good fun for her to watch the football, but also as I'm not such a big fan, where I can have a few laughs as well. Does the Havana show the football? I only managed to find it once last year, and even then after having to ask loads of people for directions but I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there. Anyway if someone could give me advice on what they consider to be the best place to go I would appreciate it. Obviously my pal's OH and mine will be nearly as keen as her to watch it, however me and our daughter might get a wee bit bored. Suggestions welcome and thanks.

I,ve never been to Turkey but I'm off on Thursday and my father in law is going with us and his a big Albion fan so I've got to find a pub for him (by the way I'm a Wolves fan so imight just chuck him in the cut..canal) but I'd assume if we're talking manure or arse they will be on at most places.

I suppose the football will be on in most places I was just wondering if there would be a place that had a fun atmosphere as well as showing the game. I watched a football match in Icmeler one night last year and I didn't like the atmosphere due to there being a wee bit of unfriendly rivalry (young guys chanting for their team and one older guy supporting the other side taking them far too seriously and roaring his head off) and where it might not have really been anything to worry about it kind of spoiled the night for me. I appreciate that can happen anywhere and it's not the bar's fault, however there's bound to be places in Icmeler where people go to watch the football and enjoy the company regardless of which team they support. So comeone all you Icmeler regulars, tell me what you think.

Totally agree there mate. I'm only going to watch a game because of my father in law, I do love football but being a Wolves fan we aint on sky until November, and the fact that my father in law doesn't like the heat so much and the rivalry between wolves and albion....guess why i chose Turkey for an holiday. I got my wolves flag packed to hang off my balcony and a Tesco carrier bag to put on his seat when we find a pub to watch Aresenal Albion...tesco carrier bag is a wolves albion joke.

3/4 Bells near the Tansas has a large screen, and some bars have 2 sat dishes for more than one game at the same time. Spoilt for choice

Hehe I can only imagine !

My home team would be lucky to be on TV at all - Perth Saint Johnstone - perhaps that's why my pal loves watching football from south of the border !

Getting tempted for the 3Bells to watch the footie in now - mainly because of the giant Yorkshire puds! Seriously though suggestions gratefully received. At the end of this holiday I want my pals to be as in love with Icmeler as I am

No you won't pal - my cousin is married to a Pompey supporter and he is a lovely fella. So if I'm going to watch the match I'll be shouting for Portsmouth  Perhaps we should be watching it in the same venue - then there will be 2 supporters hehe :)

Wherever there is going to be a good friendly atmosphere. I really hoped someone would post and say Harmony Bar had the football on as the only time I found it last year I enjoyed it very much. Anyway how about if we pm and meet up - should be a few laughs - my pal gets quite excitited - she's convinced she knows better than the ref

Slightly off topic here but we managed to get Pompey shirts in the market last week £7 each!!! one for hubby and one for 10 year old son. Only found 2 stalls that had them and had to haggle quite a bit. They are last seasons, but at that price we arent complaining :D Just to add The 3 bells on the way to the Tansas is great for Footy and for fun!!
