Fess Bar

Postby reesy1959 » 26 Jul 2008 21:30

When I was in Icmeler in June, I had one drink in what I think was the Fess Bar, or Fez bar. This bar was on the way towards the Denis Kapizi bar, up on the main road.

Hope this is the right link

I have read that this bar does live music each night.
Looking for some different nights for when we return in October.

Do they still do live music and if so, what sort of music do they play?
Is this a good place to go in the evenings, just to sit and chat and listen to live music for a change from dancing waiters?

I like to try and do different things each time we go.

Thanks for that, I was hoping it was the middle of the road stuff. When I went in one night for just one drink, he did tell us there was a band, but I didnt think to ask what sort of music they played.

Hi Mary, used to go to the Fess Bar every night on our way back to Golmar Beach. Yes very chilled out atmosphere. We were friendly with the family who run the bar up to 2 years ago, we went in last year but felt it wasn't quite the same without our friends there. However I will give it another try when I go out end of August. Dotty x

Hi Dotty

We are just looking for some different things to do on an evening. Have a change from the usual stuff. Its nice to just have a set and listen to some chill out music and still talk.

I cant wait to go back again, it seems like an eternity ago that we met you at Vince's.

Hi Dotty,
We always used the Fez bar up until three years ago when the owner sold up,(he used to own the Efendi hotel). We had fantastic nights in there ,did you ever go when Zeynep and Murhat sang and played their guitar's.Sadly when we went in 2006 it was empty every time we passed by. It was Sherifi (sp)and her husband Memhet who took over from Mustafa, but don't know if they are still there will see in September.

Hi Wimpy, looked like different people who have the bar this year, we didn't go in when we were there in June, however might go in when we return end August. And yes were did go when it was Zeynep and Murat, they were excellent, it was a different band last year who were OK but played some heavy rock so not exactly relaxing music, but different band again this year but I didnt' hear what they played. We still keep in touch with Ozzy and Kaan who worked there at that time.

And Mary....8th June does seem such a long time ago, never mind we both still have another holiday to look forward to.
