best place to look Celine would be on the govt website - just google "passport" and it'll be covered in the FAQs
I think they'll add on whole months left on the old passport onto the new passport

I'm almost sure too that you need a full 6 months left on a passport if travelling to a non EU country - counting from the return date

you right Fanny you must have 6 mounth's left from you'r return date so Celine either way you are going to have to renew that passport for you'r daughter, and i would get the ball rolling asap as the passport staff are starting strike action they have already been out for three days.

hi Celine

when you renew it also bear in mind that if she's changed since her last picture was taken, you'll need to get the new pic countersigned too

it's worth paying the small fee the PO charge for the express checking service - they give you a ref no and dedicated tel no to chase up any delays
I only know cos my 17 year old's needed renewing a couple of months ago , but like everything else, I left it til the last minute - it only took 2 weeks to get the new one though

hope this has helped

Hi Celine,
Just been on the main web sight and you can fill in an aplication form online and then thay send the form to you to sign and return, this would eliminate any mistakes you may make and save you the post office fee which used to be about a fiver may have gone up though.

Hi Celine
just seen in the papers today that the Passport Office strike has led to slight delays, but would imagine you've still plenty of time if you reapply now
by the way, they send the new passports to you by courier so if you're not in when it arrives, they leave a card telling you where to collect it from - if that happens, don't forget to take some ID with you
