hi there im going 2 icmeler in 7 days...im staying at th oylum garden aparts..was just wondering if any1 has any info on these aparts...and if any1 has any info regarding my turkish friend staying a couple of nights?? thanks for ur help Krissie x

I always stay at the Oylum Garden Hotel, where are the apartments? There is also the Oylum Hotel and the Oylum Park which are nothing to do with Oylum Garden Hotel. If it is the 'Oylum Garden Hotel you are staying in - what would you like to know?

it may be these as we r going bed n breakfast any basic info really..just what r they like?? n do u think they would allow my turkish guest 2 stay a couple of nights or r they very strict?? thanku x

Yes, must be the same place it is B&B and on the road that leads off between Wonderboys and Amigos - its a nice spot. The hotel is very friendly, family run - a young couple with a toddler and one on the way, bar boy Dursun, chef and sort of night receptionist/securtiy man Rajib and obviously a cleaner.

Don't know how they would react to a friend staying for a few nights, but it would be best to ask Rose (manager) she is very approachable and speaks good Englsih, wouldn't advise trying to sneak someone in as the entrance can be seen from the bar area and Rajib has eyes everywhere, ( reception isn't normally manned as there is no need - you'll see why when you get there) Would imagine that you would have no problem, but they might charge something like £10 per night for extra person.

It's very claan, nice size rooms, the pool has an end I can stand up in, (often been caught out with pools too deep in Turkey).

Give Rose our best wishes, tell her Jim and Margaret will see her early hours on 25th September (due into Dalaman about 1 am).

I wouldn't risk taking your friend to stay for a couple of nights unless they are actually booked into the Hotel.

Once in Altinkum my friend was staying in a different hotel from us,as she had booked last minute and she came round to meet us one day for a boat trip, we had only had 2 hours sleep and we all ended up crashing out, the maid came in and seen her and reported it to the manager, who gave us a bollocking and wouldn't let my friend back in the hotel,she had to wait outside when she came to meet us.

Another time in Alanya my friend and her hubby who is Turkish were on holiday at the same time but again in different accomodation,my hotel wouldn't let them in or use or pool etc even though they would be spending money at the bar etc,they then said my friend could use the pool but not her husband, anyway after a hoo ha with the rep and manager we got it sorted out and they eventually let them both in.

your friend will probably be ok if he/she is turkish but may encounter a problem if they're kurdish. witnessed this a couple of years ago when the owners of our apartment totally ignored a kurdish lad who was staying at the apartments with his english girlfriend.

We were moved to these apartments last june after being robbed at the Mandalin Hotel. We didn't want to stay at the mandalin anymore as we didn't feel safe but that's another story.

The Oylum Garden was very nice, the staff were lovely and made you feel very welcome. The rooms were simple, spacious and clean. Breakfast was ok, usual turkish breakfast of egg, tomato, cucumber, bread, i think we had cereal too.

The staff at the Bar were very friendly and the pool snacks were lovely and very good value for money.

Only thing that wasn't very good was the Air Con, we were there when they were having some freakish heat wave and some days it was about 55 degrees so we really needed it and it was a bit old fashioned and not as good as some of the newer Air con systems.

The pool was really nice too, plenty big enough for the size of the apartments and nice and clean with lots of space for sun loungers.

You're in an ideal spot, only a couple of minutes walk from the Waterfall Restaurant, Wonderboys bar and the centre square where all the banks are.

I'd definately stay in these apartments again.

Rachel, think I remember you ,if you were in the party of 6 that spent a lot of time in the pool, as I did. The air con has been updated this year and there are now fridges in every room, think more improvements are planned as well. Bar staff have changed Kamil now has his own apartments in Marmaris, Mustafa is working with him. Bekir (Robert) is working in Cubana restaurant in old village.
