Lol great news Dave.

One question, why take sterling?

A few reasons -

1 - £10 note each at the airport for our visa
2 - I need to pay for our for apartment in sterling.
3 - You can get some bargins at the market, 10 Boxer Shorts for a £10, 4 T-shirts for a £10 etc although you can pay in lira.
4 - A lot of trips are quoted in stirling, with the lira going up and down this year paying in stirling you know where you are, eg £10 a few weeks ago was 24 lira, today 23 lira, times the difference by 4 and I have bought a pint of Efes on the exchange rate saving.

Finally if I don't spend it I have the correct money for the pub the day I get home.

Hi Yelsel welcome to the forum, I am sure you will have a great time, a lot of members on this site seem to use the Havana bar as a bit of a local, my family and I are going to visit there this year at some time, It might be worth popping in there and having a chat with a few Icmeler Online Forum members, we all seem to be a very friendly bunch.

Lesley there is a smashing bar that puts on entertainment after 10pm just under your apartments its called De Ja Vu.
Its about 10 to 15 mins walk to the canal area.

Havanna is near to the beach - bit hard to explain if you're a first timer
BUT why not pop in to the ICR office to get directions and a good deal on boat trips etc, they will surely point you in the right direction

well it all seems official now, we got our tickets on monday, exitement is begining to escalate, roll on 18th august. Is anyone else staying in the babadan apts around that time? this will be our 6th visit but we normally go in may or sptember, we're a bit wary that it may be a lot hotter in august, suppose that means i'll have to spend more time indoors ( havana bar) lol...hope to meet some of you over there.

Icmeler is going to be full of ICR members and no one knows who each other is.
Everytime I go in a bar I will shout "My name is redrhino" and just hope that one of you will be in there.
May be a good idea to call into the office and see if any special trips or parties are arranged.
Would be a shame to come back and think "If only i had met some of the friends off ICR this holiday".
