boat trip

can anyone let me know if it's possible to book a boat trip that is just for one particular group , if so a rough idea of cost , there are six of us

I think you could negotiate a rental of a taxi boat but how much it would cost I'm not sure but I would say it would be around the £100+ mark with no sunbeds, drinks, lunch, you would be better off going on ICR's boat trip, all inclusive for £15 per person and a guaranteed sun bed.

hi the short answer is yes . our crowd has done it twice but there were twenty of us. it cost about £10 each including barbecue on board. ask for ibrahim on the beach in front of the elif /bluerainbow hotel. he will help .bill akinson

pommiesteve, like Bill says, yes you can book your own boat, and not necessarily a taxi boat. we've done it a couple of times and it makes a nice change - we also paid £10 each and the kids were free

bear in mind though that you need to check the boat out first as some don't even look seaworthy - also the cooking hygiene is a major consideration

again, I'd suggest ICR (like always ha ha) would be able to set you on the right track or maybe even arrange it for you?

You could also try booking a gulet for 6-8 of you...we did a couple of years ago and it worked out about £15 each and of course included a wonderful lunch (better than the usual boat trips round the bays). The boat was owned by a turkish guy and his irish girlfriend and we booked it on the corner by the Munamar hotel. The gulet was called Berfin. We did swim stops, wherever we wanted and it was a great day out without all the usual idiots leaping from the top deck. I would recommend it.

aw JB, jumping from the top is one of the highlights of our youngest's hol and has been since the first time we went - her excuse is that she avoids the slow queue down the steps into the water ha ha

and yes, she also does that on the private trips too - they were "sold" to us as a gulet, but the boats are just smaller versions of the usual boats

some of the private trips will take you on completely different trips than the usual boat trips
one of the ones we went on last year were over the mountain and around Orphaniye [sp], on the other side of the peninsula and it took about an hour or so to get there
the bus ride was fantastic and also, you can walk out into the sea on a sandbank - I think Gene posted some pics complete with the history of the legend

Another thing to take into consideration is the month you want this.

Early or late season will be a lot cheaper than high season

thanks everyone for your help . we arrive at the pinewood on 15th september till the 29th , relations arrive at pinewood on 22nd so were looking to book when they arrive

We went on Mr Kurts boat trip it was lovely, we made friends with a large group at the apartments, he took us all out and we had a really nice day. The Lunch was really nice with 4 different meats, and more than enough he was going round asking people if they wanted seconds.
