hi going end of august this time can anyone just back give some idea of prices this year ie meals beer boat trip to dalyan turkish bath many thanks gordy99

Meals were ranging from anything around 6ytl - 10 lira for burger like meals.
Pastas around 10 - 18 lira. Steaks around 18 to 25 lira. Sizzlers around 20 - 28 lira.

We managed to find Efes ranging from 3 to 5 lira, depending on where you drank. I have read a thread in the last few days where someone has mentioned they have found it in the last week or so for 2.5 lira.

Prices are much higher than previous years we were there in June and it was costing us about £20 for 2 meals and soft drink each and then about £35-£40 for drinks later and I was only drinking local vodka and coke and hubby on guiness and a couple of vodka and tonics later, we were home each night for around 12.30 so we didnt drink to excess, I also think the measures are smaller now as I rarely drink at home and after a night on vodka I wasnt drunk once. During day on beach I would have a coffee and couple of soft drinks it was costing about £6 there were a few places which were advertising cheaper drinks if you have a look around. I love the place and will be going back in Sept.

hi thanks for info seems to have gone up a bit going end august this time maybe a bit cooler went june last year unbearable heatwave knocked me for six once again thanks for info cheers

I don't think it has gone up that much. I only spent slightly more than I did last year, and ate and drank the same. I still think Icmeler is value for money in terms of food. I always look at it this way, how much would this meal of cost us back home, probably double.

spent week in may 2 adults 12 year 9 year old spent £900 for week went on one trip .it havent gone up a lot from last year its still cheaper than here

Meals have gone up slightly from last year drinks are roughly the same price it is the exchange rate that is making things cost more watch out for the cost of soft drinks that is where you can get stung in some places they are double what it costs for a beer we had breakfast one day the meals were about £11/12 8 orange juices not pure orange and cost £25/26,spirits are expensive in some bars and restaurants and you can hardly taste the alcohol I found the best value was to buy the cocktails and it is fun watching them bring them out it is like a show in its own right.

Just another quick question about soft drinks. We are self catering with a fridge in the room, so what are the prices of big bottles of soft drinks over there and water, what size are they and flavours...coke lemonade orange etc, sorry if it's a daft question but I've never been before.

Sorry to say yes they were 7 lira each about £3 and a carton of juice costs between 1.5 and 2.5 lira in the supermarket all juices cost about the same coke lemonade etc about the same for 1litre bottle never bought the bigger ones.

As far as the soft drinks is concerned I agree not much difference to over here, but that's business I suppose. They know kids are going to be out there and being such an hot country they know they will need lots of fluids, so they charge over the odds. I don't agree with it but unfortuneatly it's the way of the world. Over here it's not so much the sun it's the drink drivers. You can have a beer and drive or you can pay for a soft drink (which will cost just as much) wheres the incentive to not drink and drive. I don't drive but if I did I would never drink and drive, but the incentive aint there with the prices here. The beer from what I have read on these forums is a lot cheaper than over here, also the food. If I can get a steak meal over there for 12 quid I'll be well happy, can cost about 20 quid over where I live and it's crap.

steak meals you will find plenty at under £12 and thats 3 and really nice too I think water is still cheap what about that and diluteing juice
hubby mostly drinks coke and it works out the same price as some beers

Thank god we're going AI. My son can drink loads of pop through the day. Even if the food is crap I'm quite sure we'll get our money back in soft drinks and Efes

jp, you'll be sure to get your money back going AI - and better still, you won't have to ration drinks etc
we've never gone AI though cos we like to be out and about trying different places

I would go AI but they would have to be apartments, I don't like spending a week or 2 in a room.

We went AI once pretty good the first week entertainment wise but it was repeated the second week,food wise the variety leaves a lot to be desired,you are also stuck to meal timetables lastly how can you get out and about to different places and also boat trips and excursions,no thanks.

Totally agree, there are just so many places to eat and a wonderful variety. I can see the attraction for those with children. I don't think there is much to compare price wise, with what the AI hotels charge.

I suppose it depends just where the AI is and how much is paid for the hol - AI at the Marti I imagine would be great food and entertainment wise, but like you we like to get out and about
