Can you take laptops?

Postby Trish » 09 Jul 2008 09:37

Hi does anybody know if you can take laptops to Turkey, I'd be taking it as hand luggage due to luggage allowances. I could probably find out if I looked it up somewhere, but I thought somebody on the forum might know the answer quicker than I can wade through rules on airport sites.
Thanks.

There were a couple of people on our flight who had laptops with them, if that's any help to you.

I just knew it would be quicker asking on this forum, thanks, blondie adn Steve. Steve do you have to fill in extra paperwork or do you just turn up with it. I'm taking it for a friend who's working there till end of season to use, I won't be bringing it back with me.

Remember though it is only one peices of hand luggage per person, so if you want to take more stuff you would have to pack your laptop into a larger bag along with anything else you want to take in your hand luggage.

No problem with portable DVD's on planes.

If taking Laptops or DVD's on the plane make sure the battery is charged, you may be asked to power it on to check the battery is real.

I am not sure if some people have missed the actual point with this topic but yes of course you can take a laptop on a plane.

Lots of companies do not class this as hand luggage and is classed a a personal item so you can also take hand luggae.

Everywhere I travel on a plane I have my laptop in a laptop bag and also my rucksack with my cameras and some bits as a hand luggage item.

Easy jet and Ryanair class a laptop as hand luggage but I have never been stopped by any of the main charter airlines that go into Turkey and told that I cannot carry a hand luggage bag and my laptop on a flight.

To put your mind at rest though just give the company a call as some do not actually list this on their sites and some even give the wrong information
