Who has been going the longest?

2006 was the first time to Icmeler though me and my hubby had a weekend in Istanbul 16 years ago. Istanbul was amazing though a bit scary also.

2002 for us.... so realtively newbies. We missed 2003 and went somewhere else, but have been going back ever since.

1999 for us and haven't missed a year since, sometimes we go 2 or 3 times. There really is no place like it is there ?

We've been going to Turkey for over 20 years but 1997 was our first stay in Icmeler. Dancing bears, camels, and "apple pies, apple cakes" were the order of the day and the hassle in the restaurants was much worse. A waiter would see you leaving another restaurant and immediately try to drag you into his place.
The guy who does the watersports outside of the Harmony bar was there then and I well remember the shock I had when, having hired a motor boat from him and happily cruising round the bay, I turned round to see our 15 year old daughter sitting topless !!!

God Zog I bet you nearly died! Yes the dancing bears and things like that-How times have changed (for the better I think!). I rememberthe first time being in Turkey and hearing the call to prayer from the mosque and nearly dying! Didnt have a clue what it was!!! and how rich were we then with our millions!!!

I loved hearing the most in them days but unfortunatley you cannot hear it as much with the music, all music is supposed to be turned down when the mosque sounds out of respect must not bother anymore

Stayed in Marmaris in 1997 but had a day trip to Icmeler,first stay was in 2005.

2007 was the first time for us to stay in Icmeler, we too were Marmaris regulars before Icmeler took us into her arms.

first time was gumbet in 1999 then icmeler in 2003 and 2004, haven't been since! (going next year though) 2006 - olu deniz, but none of these compared to icmeler!

1994 for us 30 times Icmeler, 1 olu deniz, first time in Icmeler stayed in hotel now called Alara could not use money at bar only beads which exchanged at reception in bags valued about £10, how the times have changed.

1993, stayed at The Babadan Hotel and had a fanastic time. I'd forgot about the outdoor cinema. Does anybody remember the upstairs restaurant near where the ICR office is now? It stuck out into the road and has been knocked down? I think Icemeler has changed not always for the better. The music off at midnight is too early, one o'clock, then turn it down would be better. Also even though I don't like hassle, I think the clamp down has gone too far on the restaurants & bars, the hairdressers are by far the worst.
