Hi Everyone
Hope this doesn't bore you all.

CHAPTER 1

We got picked up at 3.45 am and off we went Pete & Renee were already in the taxi. Our flight out was one of the quickest 3hours 50 minutes we did take the 100ml bottles of Bacardi through security no problem and then got bottles of coke in departure lounge bought 400cigs in duty free £32 more expensive on plane also bought 5 bottles of spirits £35 between the 4 of us,we then got another 400 cigs in Dalaman £28.
Anyway arrived at Captain Silvers at about 4pm lovely location place could do with a refurb but that was the only downside had a room overlooking the pool bit surprised there was no table on the balconies also just one electric hob and a kettle, and shocked at how selfish some of the guests were out before 6am putting towels on sun beds some didn’t even come back that day there were 30 sunbeds 18 by the pool and 12 in the garden by 7am every sunbed by the pool had a towel on it even though there is a sign saying not to put towels on sunbeds before 9am they should have someone removing towels if there before 9am we didn’t want a bed by the pool as we liked the garden so no problem until the last couple of days when towels were being put on them as well and they were all british.
The bar staff were brilliant Amir Kamil and can’t remember the names of the other staff sorry to say,we frequented a number of bars and restaurants, found the Svengi bar to watch the football also The Havanna if you want a good laugh Za Za & Leon were so friendly and drinks and food were good in there, we Found Ozzy’s again and the food was the best as always, went to Captain Sinbads in the Old Village good meal and the tricks he showed us were brill the walk back was very relaxing until we got back to Town and the noise hit us at the junction by the 23 restaurant what used to be Barons it is starting to change and not for the better, went to Wonder Boys a couple of times shows a bit iffy saw a new one the Fire Lady what a JOKE,went to the Pig & Whistle very relaxing in there.
Went to book the Jeep Safari with ICR for Wednesday but they said they were running one on the Sunday so we went then with Donna & Sharron got some pictures to put on about this,we have been on a Jeep Safari before but this was better met a lovely couple Mark & Margaret (Tinkerbelle) Mustapha and gang were brilliant,as Donna said there were 5 jeeps in our convoy and you just do not know what to expect from your other travellers but everyone quickly got in the mood it was just a day of complete mayhem the guns were not enough after a while and buckets of water were being hurled without the bucket at one point I threw a bucket of water over my shoulder didn’t know where it landed until I saw Donna she was hysterical it seems the water hit the Germans full in the face we found out later they were not Germans they were Dutch the cameraman was a total nut case he was perched on the cage over the jeep he was on the bonnet he was also stood on the front bumper videoing and taking pictures I have watched a bit of the video and from what I can see it is good there was one disappointment one of the jeeps was fitted with seat belts for the young ones safety but it was also where the dutch couple were sat and they wouldn’t let the kids fire there water pistols as they did not want to get wet that’s why it was so funny when I hit them full in the face with a bucket of water the kids were very disappointed, the waterfalls were excellent taking the rough trail is best we left at 9am and didn’t get back till 6.30pm,we also booked the Talk of the Town that was so funny well worth a visit,we also booked the ICR all day trip you can only go if there are 8 or more so we had to wait to see if any one else booked we got a message to come to the office to pay for the tour which was great went to some places you would not normally see and who was on the tour Mark & Margaret.
we went to Turunc one day on the Dolmus while we were waiting Taxi’s kept stopping and gave us prices ranging from 25 to 30 Lira to take us there but we were looking to get the Dolmus which cost 4 lira but that was for the journey even if you were going from Marmaris ,we did get a taxi back from the Talk of the Town cost us 25 Lira,a couple of bars to be careful of is Champions had a shandy and a water in there cost us 10 lira the Irish bar the shorts are as weak as hell also the Magic Garden nice place but 10 lira for a Tasteless Bacardi,Drinks ranged from 2.5 to 5 lira for a beer, Gin Vodka Brandy Bacardi and Raki from 6 to 10 lira, biggest rip off were the juices orange apple pineapple etc from 4 to 7lira snacks and meals ranged from 4 lira for a sandwich burger etc and up to 25lira for a steak meal,to put it in context 2.5 lira £1.10 10 lira £4.16 as the exchange rate while we were there was 2.40lira to the pound and that was in Pauls Tours under the ICR office on the front, can’t think of anything else if I can help with anything let me know.
And the flight home might not have been that bad if the passengers had got on when they were called our flight was supposed to leave half an hour early but because some of the passengers were late we missed our slot and had to wait on the plane for ¾ of an hour for another slot which caused a knock on affect at Manchester and had to circle the airport for an extra 10 mins longest Turkish flight we have ever been on.
All in all an absolutely brilliant holiday Icmeler is a really great place hope I have not put too many negatives.
