How Hot!

Going in a few days is it very hot at the moment? BBC site has it at 108 (42) on Tuesday and CB over on HT is calling it the oven not that I mind the sea is cool!

add a few degrees on to that reported figure, and enjoy temps reported are usually from airport, so beach will be hotter. Icmeler beach has a big sign that tells you the temp, we got i bit obsessed by it in may, and felt the need to txt home regularly to let them know

I normally add 10 degrees onto that temp as the BBC is taken in the shade, enjoy the heat

hi level200 I always go in August I go on the 10th all I can say is slap on the sun cream and chill out and of course if you have got kids put them 50+ on I do and it never gets the kids and they are in the pool all day.

I find if we stay roun the pool you seem to get a bit of a breeze so do not find it that hot, but then again I love the sun could sit in it all day.

Definately agree with what Clare said but would also add,

We make a girls wear a t-shirt for the hottest couple of hours, plus a hat to prevent heat stroke. We also pull them out of the pool every hour to have a proper drink (Although the little one complains that she has swallowed enought pool water) and check their sun cream coverage.

As a family of four we go through more than 5 litres of water a day in the apartment, plus we buy bottles when on walk about, When we went on Jeep Safari we took a frozen 2 litre bottle each which just lasted the day.

Obviuosly another way to keep cool is to join me for an Efes at the bar as we are going to the same place but keep drinking water as well.

Just a point on wearing T-Shirts or tops in the swimming pools.
A lot of the apartment or Hotel owners dont allow the wearing of this types of atire in the pool.
Something to do with the clogging up of the filters by the bits of the tops.
Check out the pools rules before going in.
Then again it also says no jumping or diveing also no bringing in your own drinks and food and we all ignore these rules.

So I have come to the conclusion that this message was a waste of time so please dis-reguard.

my son has just this minute texted me from gumbet said 46 degrees today thats pretty hot,he has had a touch of sunstroke the last couple of days , so be careful make sure you all put your suncreams on & drink plenty of water

The hottest I have seen it in the Med was in Ibiza a few years back, it was close to 50 for over a week

I don't actually mind the heat after all I am not exactly exerting myself and like I said the sea is a great way to cool down! But I always feel for the staff having to work

Heyyyyyyy i'm back!! what a fab time we had and yes it was sooooooo hot, in the 40's and we did tip over 50 so please take care make sure you all drink plenty of fluids. You can buy frozen water from the shops, we even managed to get fanta lemon put in the freezer from our little shop across the road from our hotel....was so refreshing

Plenty of suncream and don't be fooled by the sun ...i know i got burnt for the first time ...OUCH!!!!!!!!!

If any of you are unfortunate to get even slight sunburn the BEST remedy is natural yoghurt, its very soothing and gives instant relief. Leaves the skin very soft!!

My OH has very fair skin, but never burns, because she is extra careful,

I am the same Robert123, I have blonde hair but don't burn because I am careful while still getting a good tan, the poor kids came home without tans last year because of the high factor creams. But don't care felt really good because we did it right!

I always get a tan, but I don't really lye in the sun, I just pick it up when i am swimming and walking
