We ate there last year and had a lovely meal, the place was full and we had to wait for a table. However this year we had no problem getting a table as it was very quiet. There were 8 of us eating and not one of us were happy with the meal. I decided i wanted a change from steak or chicken and opted for fish and chips, which i had ordered last year and really enjoyed. When my meal arrived the fish was really small and there were 7 frozen chips and a little bit of salad on the side. My little boy had a childs portion of the same last year and there was twice as much as what i got. On leaving the restaurant i told sam on the front [who i have known for years] that none of us were happy with the meal, he sort of apologised and explained that the rent for the place was up this year and there had to be cut backs. I told him that there were so many lovely restaurants in icmeler, that when you have a bad meal somewhere you don't tend to go back, hence all the empty tables that night and every other night we walked past.
Thankfully we discovered the florida bar the following evening, which was superb.

Yes. Bill who was at the Florida is now at the Titanic. It's on the same road as the banks and the Tansas, almost opposite the Pleasure nightclub, on a corner.

Shame about the love boat, I had some nice meals in there last year, lets hope they get their act together, although you can not discount for a bad night, I guess all places have them

Hiya Andy thanks for the reply! It seems a real shame if the place has gone down the pan afterall we,re staying upstairs!Have you tried the Wayside? it,s ran by former loveboat front of house Hamdi & Ozkan. The place is fabulous :D same quality as the loveboat but not as pretentious.I bet the place gets some stick now since the loveboat as gone off the boil.Did you try anywhere else that,s worth a mention? Thanks again Paul

the fajitas in the florida are to die for
they come on a sizzling cast iron thing
my dayyys i cant explain how nice they are
the chickens so tender and juicy and you get all the normal sides aswell as the sauces for the fajitas
i ate them 6 times last year and didnt get bored

Hi Ola

If you follow the road which the webcam looks along Florida is on the left hand side at the top of the canal.

I hope the Love Boat's not gone downhill. Waiting to eat there again is the only thing that's kept me going all year.

Again it does go to show that sometimes it's a matter of your own preferences, I tried the Venice one night a couple of years back and did not like it yet other rave about it, (in fact most of the popular places by the canal are not that good IMO)

There are several places (which will remain nameless) that I would not eat in, yet they get good reviews of some, I recommend to do what we do and try as many different places as you can

I have to say that when we ate at the loveboat last week both wife and i were dissapointed nice surroundings but the plate was on the small side but i am a big eater so thatcould be the reason lol,was also dissapointed with the Florida.i have to say that the best food we had was in a new restaurant called Cupids just up from mandolin it is owned by Vinces brother and the Beef sizzle was fantastic so good in fact we went back on a later day.
