Hi we stayed at the Munamar three years ago.Very nice furnishings and we were upgraded to a suite.Found the general atmosp here very unfriendly.Bar staff took about 10 days to get to know us.It was 3 years ago so maybe ok now.At that time they were having a big problem with Russians.Checking rooms for extra occupants. Some that were staying were an embarassment....taking loads of food at buffet and leaving it..ordering extra drinks and then just leaving them. Also awful incident one day when a Russian girl who we later met and chatted with and turned out very nice, came to lunch in a thong bikini and stilettos.I know all you blokes would be thinking...nothing wrong with that...yeah!But the poor head waiter had to go and ask her to cover up.Respect seemed to be a word that was not understood.Maybe its ok now,but we've had a lot happier times in 2 and 3 star B&Bs......and more importantly spread our dosh all around!

Just a thought never stayed at these hotels but did she have a drink in the Alinda hotel or in the Amalia Bar underneath which has great staff and always keep guests entertained. We have been going in there for 3 years since the staff moved there from Blondies. Ali is great but hates to be beaten at the pool table, wonder if he is practising with the darts we left him?? PS Gutted Turkey lost the other night come on Spain!! :)

Munamar

Hi, just to update you on the Munamar. Has now changed hands and is just called the Munamar. Have stayed their since it became All Inclusive and over the years it has improved gradually. However this year it has changed a lot. The quantity of the food on offer has changed in that they have gone for quality rather than quantity, still help yourself but it's far better. The staff don't bother you anymore and they all appear genuinely more happy working their. The pool has changed in that they don't employ youngsters to run the music - blasting out all day, now they have their own full time staff and the emphasis has gone on background music, so you can read, swim or generally just lay about withough getting deafened, also the standard games and activities are very low key. The interior or the rooms is the same except a big plus, you have your own a/c unit in the room, controlled by yourself. Bar area has also changed and has gone for soft background music during the day and entertainment at night. Beach is very much as it was with sunbeds for everyone if you want one. All in all it has changed a lot and the changes have made it a far better hotel. Am in the process of booking for may 09 now. One thing I would say is that although children are welcome at the hotel it has virtually nothing for them, except staff to try and keep them occupied. Have stayed at the Marmaris Palace (several times) and the Grand Azur and the Munamar is far better than both of these. If you want any pics or info on the hotel ask and I will put them online for you all to see
