Do we need one?

Postby zoe_clark » 23 Jun 2008 21:25

Hiya everyone. I have been reading about the mosquito's & although we have never had any trouble with them i was just thinking do we need to have mosquito plug in for the apartment?? This will be our 3rd time to icmeler but this is our 1st time staying in an apartment.

Only 49 sleeps to go! :)

Thanks

we always take one just in case - or should I say that it lives in the case and has done for several years ha ha
it's probably out of date now if not run dry, but it's just one of those holiday things

We've just got back after our 4th visit to Icmeler, and not a mossie bite among the 6 of us.
We do take (and use!) plugs, we do take vitamin B tablets before and during our stay, we do buy Sin Kov spray from the local shop and use each evening.
However, I honestly think we should just trust Icmeler council, we see them spraying constantly.
Our over cautiousness stems from our first visit to Turkey, to the beautiful Olu Deniz, where we were bitten to death! Consequently we take no chances!

Just returned home and I've got about two bites whilst out and about and about 4/5 in the hotel room so I would still use a spray and plug in the room.

I had about 5 bites from my hotel room, and didnt use the plug. I had about 5 on my legs too from going out and about, so will definitely be using plug and more deterrent in October.

Better safe than sorry.

I take a mozzie plug with me without fail.... trouble is I always forget to plug the blimmin thing in!

As the roads are sprayed they're not too much of a problem, but take some repellent if you're worried, and try not to sleep with the patio door wide open - most places have mozzie screens.

I do always keep some bite/sting cream in my beach bag and another tube in my handbag though - just in case i'm bitten whilst out. If you can put it on a bite straight away it'll stop the itch and there's less chance of the bite getting infected.

We always take a mozzie plug with us, as you say a holiday thing.... we have found also that if you have the air con on in the hotel rooms, they dont like the cold  I still spray my ankles and wrists before going out in the evening though.

i always get bitten plugs or not even with mozzy spray on before i go out i think if you are going to get bitten you will an im pretty sure some repellents actually just attract them. i think they hate me, they gang up on me.
