I heard very recently that in the U.S. that some airlines are considering weighing baggage & passengers due to soaring fuel costs.
It has always confused me that we are charged £6/kilo for over weight luggage , they say it is because they need more fuel in order to carry the exta weight, but I weigh 12 stone & the guy behind me weighs 20 stone , so what is it all about. :? :?

Denis.

they'd get me both ways - am nearly 6' and not the lightest of ladies
don't suppose my lightweight girlies would get a reduction for being well under either

good job I don't bother with hand luggage

Hand baggage

Andy.. in reply to your question about chargers for phones, i-pods etc.
We put ours in our hand luggage, including my docking station for my i-pod, also my hair straighteners (heaven forbid if they went missing in a suitcase!!! ). No-one bothered at all going from the UK, but coming home, they went through my hand baggage at Dalaman, twice!!! and were checking over my straighteners and docking station. Never had any bother before when I've taken them though... I think it just depends on whether you get a turkish jobsworth called Mustaphalook
