Dolphins

Does anyone know what they are doing with Dolphins I have read about on previous threads. Can't find any info about them.

I really like dolphins.

We went on boat trip in Gran Canaria, and they were swimming along the side of the boat, so close you could reach down and touch them. It was lovely.

Between Icmeler and Marmaris

Just read in the paper about some in Bodrum, I hope they haven't done the same in Marmaris as Bodrum.

In Bodrum they have captured some Dolphins, and they have them kept in small wire cages, and they are charging 50 quid each to swim them. Aparantly the conditions are really bad, and they are covered in cuts and scars because they are in such a small enclosure they are fighting with each other.

Hope they wouldn't be as cruel as to do that in Marmaris/Icmeler.

Awww I want to swim them. But I wouldn't swim with them if the conditions are as bad as they say they are in Bodrum.

When saw them in Gran Canaria, I felt like jumping in the sea with them, but were very far out so wouldn't of been wise.

we saw them in Icmeler in 2006 on a boat trip
we were heading off to the first bay and they were swimming along the front of the boat for a while

there is an enclosure you will find if you do the marmaris walk of Dolphins but no one would tell s what was going on

We hired a speed boat in 2006 and I'm 99% sure I saw one just out of the bay where Turunc is. ..........and after a couple of efes's I also saw a mermaid

thing is Cheriton, when we saw the wild ones we were on Captain Bullsh*ts boat (can I mention that Admin - just for context?) and we thought he was winding us up
thing is though that everyone rushed to one side of the boat - felt like we could have tipped over ha ha

When we were there last week we saw the green tent around them i looked in and saw the dolphins but one guy told us to get away from it
I spoke to another local near by and he said there were training them but i personally think its cruel

The encloser in my opition wasnt very big at all, i was shocked when i saw them i no ive heard story from around the world about theses things but never once in all the years off us going to Turkey have we saw dolphins in a encloser with a tent sort off thing covering them up.

If they had nothing to hide it would off been all in the open air and especially one local hussering us away quickly i thought that was very strange

We went swimming with the dolphins last year in Cuba. Their enclosures were massive and they were free to jump out of them at anytime to roam the seas, and did, but they always came back as they love interacting with humans and enjoyed the attention, training and food on tap. What was abundantly clear was, they adored their trainers and they were all in superb condition.

We paid an extra tenner to be aquaplaned (if that is the right word) through the water by our feet on their noses. It was an experience of a lifetime and one that we'll never forget.

If the dolphins in Icmeler are going to be kept in the same conditions as described above then fine, but if they are just going to be kept in a small enclosure for tourists to "gawp" at, then that is unforgiveably cruel, as they are beautiful, intelligent creatures. If it's the latter, then I think there will be lots of complaints - me for one.

I second that Kazz. It is my dream to swim them but, no at there expense of them being kept cruely.

Its my dream too to swim with dolphins ever since I went to America when I was 18 (oh such a long time ago ) I got talking to the trainer at Sea World and he actually got the dolphin to give me a kiss from that moment on I fell in love with them.

I hope to god that they are not keeping dolphins in a small enclosure would be so cruel.
