Smoking ban in Turkey

Postby reesy1959 » 26 May 2008 12:18

Seeing as this has been adopted in many places now in Turkey, has it had any effect on restaurants, bars etc in Icmeler?

I don't think a smoking ban will ever be enforcable in Turkey, as I think people just simply wont take any notice of it, and the police wont want to to enforce ie either.

Dalaman airport is now all Non Smoking. Some public places have adopted it, our friend was in an internet cafe yesterday and he was not allowed to smoke in there.

Bars restaurants and clubs wont be affected until July 2009
only ones in Malls are affected now.
Sorry smokers but the sooner the better for me especially as eating out is the main part of your holiday experience and its not very nice eating when smokes in your face.
Sorry off my soapbox now

yes just flew back today, dalaman airport is totally smoke free. We didnt get stopped from smoking in any of the hotels, bars or restaurants they just waved my husband on when he wanted to smoke, but the airport is a big no no.

We had a lovely meal in i think the Romance last year spoilt by a family that sat i front of us virtually chain smoking from the time they arrived, now i dont have a problem with people smoking and i have never smoked but should be allowed by choice,i dont think it to much to ask for a restaurant to be smoke free when food is being served,Tony hope you dont mind me borrowing your soapbox mate. Apparently the only room you can smoke in is in the CIP lounge.Have friends who flew home yesterday and they were telling me.

I think it was a typo, I think they meant VIP Lounge in dalaman airport.

seems strange that you can smoke here but not any where else in the airport :?: :?:

I would of thought this would of been a deffinate no no area :?

Is this area open in the early hours of the morning or is it just a day area?
