Hi all
Does anyone know if you can get an injection in icmeler to stop prickly heat as i suffer quite badly. If so where ?, How much ? and does it work.

Hiya. I dont know about injections but I do know that antihistamine tablets work, well they did for me. Piriton or something like that. I dont know how, but they get rid of the rash. Hope that helps. We're going Friday - 3 more sleeps. enjoy your holiday

i suffer terribly with it, and my gp, gave me predisolone tablets ( steriod tablets) 5mg....

these were used as a last resort, but the injection i have had aboad has been a steriod injection...

the tablets worked fine for me, infact they stop my holiday from being spoilt..

the chemist in icmeler sell the same tablets, no idea on the injection..

maybe chat to your gp over here, as the injection and tablets can cause side effects,

Myself and two children all suffered with it last year we went to chemist and she gave us some steriod cream to put on it did work. We go back in 10 days time and have been advised to start taking Piriton before we go and continue it whilst over there. This apparently works really well.

Hi Mandy That is right start taking Piriton about 1/2 weeks before you go away and then for the duration of your holiday.We have a little girl who used to get prickly heat really badly.Now we do this every year and she is free from prickly heat thus leaving Niamh to enjoy her holiday and boy does she know how to party.

My daughters partner had prickly heat blisters all over his back last year I had never seen anything like it he used all sorts antihistamines tablets creams and as a last resort went to the Chemist who gave him an injection I think it was steroids worked a treat cost him £15 this was in Altinkum but I should imagine you could get the same treatment in Icmeler.

mY WIFE GOT PRICKLY HEAT A FEW YEARS AGO AND SOMEONE SUGGESTED TEA TREE OIL , THE GOOD STUF FROM A GOOD 'BODY'SHOP.
A FEW DROPS ON COTTON WOOL AND DAB IT OVER THE AFFECTED AREA..

i suffered bad with it and the chemist over here told me to use PIZ BUIN Oil free sun lotion he said its the oil in the others that block your pores up then you get prickly heat its more expensive but boots or super drug have it on offer buy1 get 1free i take the piriton as well

The docs here gave me Loratadine which is the non-drowsy type of antihistimine but i always have piriton on me too. x

I used to suffer prickly heat until I changed to Piz Buin oil free sun tan lotion and have not had it since. It is expensive but you can usually get it in Boots buy on get one free and Tesco's have had it recently at half price.

don't suffer myself but my daughter always did. Medical advice said anti-histamine or steroid creams to clear it but to stop it appearing in the first place use non-oil based sun treatments as they block the pores causing the sweat irritation which leads to the rash and blisters.

I have this really badly but one year i used a sun bed a few weeks before going. I hardly came out in any rash. Yes i have hired one this year but, last year my daughter in law was terrible with it. Our Icmeler friend took her to the Medicle centre in Icmeler and gave her some cream and told her to carry on with her anti tabs. The crean he gave hr worked a treat. Happy hols. Jem xx

Just had to join to answer your question re Prickly Heat. . .my hubby suffers every single time we go away and it drives him absolutely mad . . . and me too being a sun worshipper that I am

Every year he has an steroid injection in Icmeler at the medical centre, it costs about £40.00 by memory but it definately clears it up and stops the itching. . .for us well worth every penny. He tries zirtek, piriton the lot and nothing stops it, the doctors here will not give the injection, we have asked on many occasions.

We are travelling out on Friday so I am sure Saturday morning he will be there waiting to get his yearly steroid injection ?!?!

Are there any side effects with the injection?
There are a couple of versions of the sun allergy rash, the small spotty itchy one which I would call prickly heat and then the rash with the larger blister type spots that clear up quite qickly when out of the sun for a day or two, this isn't itchy. The second one is called polymorphic light eruption (google it!) it's very common in women 20s - 40s, I get this one and it's very unsightly, rash is mostly on arms and sometimes chest, it gets quite bad when sun comes through the window when driving. I find using a sunbed does help but it ususally does come out again in Icmeler, I wonder if injection would help this?

Also try Piz Buin allergy sun tan lotion, i have been using it for years and it is fab. last year in Egypt a little girl was suffering and i put some of mine on her (as i was talking to her mum) and she was fine.
