Sea front walk to Marmaris

Postby cheriton » 23 May 2008 22:16

I believe from other posts that you can walk to Marmaris along a beach side path, but I have seen from the water taxi to Marmaris a few large hotels that look as though they are right on the beach front with waterslides going into the sea, between Icmeler and Marmaris. Can any one tell me if the path goes through these hotels or does it get diverted around them. :?

Hi Cheriton,

The walkway runs all the into Marmaris. The hotels are one side of the path-way with guards on the entrance to the hotel grounds, and the slides for the hotel are on the opposite side of the path-way so, no you do not walk threw any hotel grounds. A super walk which will take approx 45 mins to 1 hour. Bars and cafes on the route so you can stop for a drink and enjoy the views.

Hi Mary,
It is a great walk, but not a lot of shad when you get toward Marmarise so choose your time either well early or late evening. We did it last year but it was april, would not atempt it in the hight of the summer. But it is a loverly walk with some great views.

Where does the walk start in Icmeler. It sounds like a great way to spend the day especially with the water taxi to come back

Hi all Dawn and me did the walk for the first time this year :D Will post pics soon. It was lovely and we did the 3hour thing. Walk, drink, walk, ice cream, walk, drink. For anyone who is interested passed the ice rink on the way and not a soul was on it in May! It was on our to do list and we really enjoyed it. The views are stunning :D :D

Hi Robbo,
If i remember rightly, the bigger hotels have security guards on the gates and you need a pass to get in so i would say residents only, but there is no harm in asking. You can see quite a lot of some of the hotel's from the walkway.
