I do hope not. It will be a shame if they get more hassle from the police for no reason at all.

Does anyone who has recently come back know if you can still smoke at Dalaman Airport in light of the new smoking ban.
Not bars and restaurants til next May.

Hi, we came back on Friday + Dalaman airport is completely no smoking as from last Monday. Once you have gone through the scanning process at the entrance, and checked in you are allowed back outside for a ciggie but have to go back through the scanning process again with any items you are carrying to get back in. Also they were very keen about checking bags, about every second person was being sent to one side to have their hand luggage checked. I had an open packet of crisps in my bag and they even looked in there.
Superkings were £16.50 for 200, and they were telling you in the duty free shop that you are allowed 9 sleeves.

Hope this helps

Hi Polly Does that include the smoking room up by the toilets where the staff smoke?

If like most other european countries except the U.K. they will bring in the smoking ban and it will be completely ignored,I cannot see it working in Turkey were about 90% of adults smoke.

Hi Sue
Yes it's everywhere. The whole airport is completely non smoking. It was like being at home, everyone was lighting up outside as they got off the coaches.

My friend came to the internet cafe yesterday to talk to me and my Husband, and he is ALWAYS smoking, but we noticed straight away he wasnt. He told us its banned, in a lot of places now. I have read somewhere, that the complete ban in restaurants etc starts in July 2009.
