so I think a bit of the old dutch courage will be in order methinks lol
Flying is really boring - honestly.
First time I flew was for our honeymoon, I was fine I didn't worry at all about flying - the wedding planning took up all my worrying time

I was ok up until I found out I wasn't sat right next to hubby (he'd asked for isle seats so we could get up and down for the loo without disturbing anyone) so I panicked a bit but once on the plane I was fine, we held hands across the isle and he explained what was happening and I was fine then.
The only interesting parts are take off and landing - I know you're scared of heights but I'd really recommend you look out the window and watch as it can be really disorientating not looking and feeling yourself going up and not seeing what's going on outside.
Once you're up and levelled out it's just like being on a coach - hence it being boring.
Then the landing is interesting - brilliant seeing all the houses and sights etc below then touching down can SOMETIMES be a bit rocky but if I remember rightly from our first time to
Dalaman last year it was a great landing and take off, very smooth.
I'd really recommend sucking on boiled sweets for take off and landing, keep swallowing and it helps your ears pop back to normal.
Also try and get up a few times to the loo or moving your feet just in case you swell up - I used to but I try and drink plenty of water before we go and during the flight and keep getting up for the loo and I don't swell up hardly anymore.
DON'T WORRY - you're safer in a plane than you are in a car/bus/coach - you'll love it !!!
