Fuel prices

Postby geovil » 23 May 2008 01:01

I wonder how long it will be before the fuel prices push Flights and holidays abroad out of reach of the working man yet again,I predict that within a month or 2 fuel prices will exceed £6 per gallon when you think 8 months ago a gallon of petrol or diesel was under £4 per gallon the profits oil companies must be making today is horrendous and then you have the U.S.A. crying about fuel prices when the cost of petrol is under £2 and diesel is just over £2 per gallon we have paid that in just the rises over the past months.

Hi Geovil

Last year we booked a late holiday through ICR and the flights alone cost us £984 this year the flights are costing over £1300 if the cost of fuel keeps going up we wont be able to afford to go next year and its no cheaper going anywhere in this country with the price of petrol here
it will stop alot of people having a holiday

completely agree.

On the news this morning, its reported that BA said the era of cheap flights is ending, which would affect the budget airlines.

The smaller ones maybe, but wouldnt have thought it would affect the likes of Easyjet they're too ensconced in the airline service now.

The USA have just put a $15 levy on hold baggage, and it was mentioned in the news that they would be looking next at surcharges depending on your weight that should be fun.

we have been hit with fees to pay for fuel, got letter today we have been charged £10.94 per person so I have got to fork out another £45.00 out before I go in August. It stinks as if we have not paid enough with going in August :(
