i dont know if anyone can help me but my friend in turkey wants me to bring him some alcohol from duty free and i was wondering where it would be cheaper to get it from manchester airport or dalaman airport

I think it's all much of a muchness, but the UK airports do quite often have special offers on, so if you see 2 litres for £16 flying out I'd get it at the UK airport. There are sometimes good deals on the plane too.

Others may have other opinions though, I don't take too much notice as I'm quite happy drinking the local stuff whilst there.

I know i am butting in on this post, sorry, but does anyone know if they sell Superking Blue on the plane or at Dalaman? :oops:

mandi I would recommend buying at your UK Airport because if its an imported spirit then you will find the price will be more expensive in Dalaman, plus there are always special offers on at UK Airports. I know we always have to take Barcardi over when we go as it is much cheaper in England and our hotel always appreciate it :D

Not sure if the same offer is on right now, but when we went through East Midlands Airport in December, there was a great deal on spirits (top brands) - 6 large bottles for £30. I remember Malibu, Bells, Archers, Smirnoff were included as well as many more.

With this in mind, it may be advantageous to keep a little spare space in your hand luggage!

I've never seen them at either so always get mine at duty free
if I dont, I just smoke L&M Blue superkings while I'm there
