Hello!!! Another Newbie Icmeler addict here.

Postby Annie.f » 08 May 2008 18:40

Hi just thought Id say hello. Im staying at the Palm Gardens from 21st July for 2 weeks and cant wait!! I last went to Icmeler in 2006 and didnt have a holiday last year so am in desperate need of one this year!! Taking the old man and 2 kids, 10 and 12. Stayed at the Alvaro last time and had the most wonderful time, cant wait to pay them a visit and see if any of the old faces are still there. We had so much fun. sad to hear the Alvaro restaurant is no longer, had many a drunken fun night there. Hubby loved being abused and tortured by the guys , will have to sort some pics out, we got some right funny ones, made some great friends. Whats this I see about the new Promenade?  and was that sand I saw being put on the beach????Just a couple of questions, we didnt get to do the Jeep safari last time, which is the best one to do? Also how late can you book a private transfer? Dont fancy the long coach trip this time. I see ICR do one and do I just tell the reps in the airport when I get there Im not going on the coach or do i have to let them know earlier? I dont want to have to pay any charges for changing the booking.Anyone had experience of this?

HI Annie and welcome

Jeep safari - contact ICR either now or when you're there - check out the excursions on the home page
Private transfer - again ICR and details on home page

I always use a private transfer and just tell the reps when I get to the airport - and that it's return so they don't need to bother with me when I'm going home. I've never incurred any charges for not using the tour ops transfer - if you contact them about it before your holiday, you may even find that they knock it off your bill [well you can live in hope ha ha]

Hi Annie and welcome to the forum.

Personally I would book the transfer with ICR via the website - details on home page. Then at least you know it's done, and that they will be there at the airport to take you to "Paradise". Would also book your Jeep Safari through ICR too. It's great fun and a fantastic day out - be prepared to get soaking wet

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Hope you have a great holiday and enjoy all the trips.

Last year I cancelled my return transfer with the holiday company as some friends drove us to Dalaman, there was no problem with the tour company, I just had to sign a form to say I was making my own way to the airport.

Hi Annie, welcome to the forum, we've booked transfer through ICR and hotel for next week, so I will let you know how it goes. I have every confidence from the conversation I had when I booked it and from reports from this site. I will give an honest opinion when I get back. :D

Thanks for all the replies :D . Am getting really excited now, only 9 weeks to go :D :D We have decided to book the transfers, Jeep safari and the Boat day trip all before we go so will not have to fork out spending money when we get there. In answer to Ochlynda Im pretty sure we were at the Alvaro last week in June and first week of July. Thanks Trish will keep an eye out for your posts when you return. Cockneyjambo, you will love the Alvaro, its a great place to stay, they are all very friendly. One thing I will say is take a travel Kettle!!! They only have these turkish 'pots' that you boil the water on the stove with and it takes forever. That was back in 06 though so things might of changed! The slide in the pool is great fun, kept our kids amused for hours! Will post some pics later. Anyone been on the ICR boat trip??? we did one last time from a man touting on Marmaris beach and the boat was awful, packed to the gills and the food was inedible. Not saying the ICR one will be anything like it but nice to hear someone else has been on it.
