The old village

Postby Misspiggy » 27 Apr 2008 09:00

Hi

Can anyone tell me what the restaurant is called in the old village. It is owned by Ali and he has a few turtles, rabbits and guineau pigs. Its right at the end of a long stretch of road with the restaurants on near to the bakery and there is a small mosque nearby.

We went last year for a drink to cool off so going to go back in June for a meal as food look delicious.

Thanks

Mandy

Hi

Don't think it was called that. I had Ali's email address but lost it and I know he lives over in England in Market Weighton not far away from me and goes back over to Icmeler for the season. Thanks anyway.

It's definately Captain Sinbads. We had a lovely leg of lamb there last year. Ali said that business was really bad and he was worried he might have to sell up. He's married to an English girl and works part of the year over here. He said without that job he wouldn't be able to manage at all. I think the location is the problem as it's quite a way out. I hope he gets more custom this year.

Nice bloke running it but there was way too many flies around because of all the animals and it was a real turn off for us, glad we only went for a drink.

Think he used to work at the Cabanas the year previous and you can see his wedding reception on their flyers.

Nice bloke and service just in a really bad location for lots of custom.

Yes I totally agree Ali was a lovely bloke. His baby girl had just been born and he had to go over to Turkey but was really excited that his wife was bringing her across. Never got chance to meet her. Be a shame if he had to sell. Will go and see if he is still there in five weeks :D time.

Hi
Yes it is Captain Sinbad's and was owned and run by Ali. He isn't there any more he now lives and works in York with his wife and baby girl.
I know this because I speak to him on MSN. A lovely guy and one that will be missed by all.

Hi Jane

Don't think I will go now. Was only going back to see him, was such a nice bloke. Oh well next time you speak to him say Mandy from Scarborough was asking about him (he might remember me) and wish him luck from us.
