Best Buys for 2008

Postby Brownie1 » 17 Apr 2008 18:25

Right ladies (and gents because some of you hold the purse strings!)

What are we all going to shop for this year?

Handbags, shoes, T shirts......

There's a lot of things you would not do on holiday which you would normally do at home but let's face it - retail therapy - it's what keeps us girls happy!

Would love to hear what this year's buys will be??? :)

Gonna try and get myself another top class snyde watch.

Think i'm gonna go for an Omega Seamaster this time, just like James Bond, hehe.

Hi Jeff, when I am in Icmeler we always go to the leather shop just under the Prince Apartments on the main street going down towards the beach and opposite Le'toile. We have been going to them for the last 5 yrs and buy 1 every time we go. They make them to measure so would really recommend them. A lovely couple too so give them a try,

& meant to say I always like to try and buy some kind of jewellery as you can always manage to get something that little bit different from what we can get at home,

Hi Natajack

You would get on well with my hubby he has around 200 watches now  Lots of them from Turkey of course but a few real ones as well.

I buy a couple every year but just the cheapy ones. I bought one 2 yearsago went to get a battery fitted at a shop near my work last week they charged me £7.95  if I had taken it back to where I bought it from Ali's at the underground market,he probably would have given me one for nothing

I like the 3 sisters shop over the road from Set restaurant they sell lovely sets of jewellery all around £10.

I always buy a watch every year, i bought one 4 years ago from the guy near the bottom of the canal market and it works as well today as when i bought it, he always stops me and asks to see it!

The lady who works or owns the Magic Garden designs and makes her own jewellery. She has it on display and always say I will have a look but it's so relaxing there I never get around to it. I get the impression it's costume stuff. A must do this year.

Dreamboys side, hes about 3 up from the bottom next to the DVD guy, he is good and his watches last, hes not the cheapest i think i paid £40 for a top range watch but its an exact match of a Breitling worth £12,000 and every little dial works. You can get cheaper but not all the dials work and the hands that are glued on fall off after a while. If you keep on at him he will give you a posh box too!

I'll have to look out for him, don't mind paying a bit extra for a watch that will last longer than two weeks lol.

Thanks for the info

Endy's brother was'nt there when we went in Sept last year the stall was closed.
Endy has the jewellers shop next to Harry's Bar

I cant remember the guy's name that you are talking about but his brother has the watch shop just along from the Ruby Jewellers which is across the road from the 3 bell (Bec's) one.
