Hi Natjack

I think the market is classed as being in the old village aswell, but the place in question near Tommys is further than the market, about another 10 mins walk.

Thanks for that info.

Will have to have a wander round there this time, and see what there is.

I was just looking at the title of this thread 'The Old Village'
It made me think a little because soon there will not be much of an old village left because there is so much new property springing up :(

hmm. gets a bit complicated. The old village is round Ozzie's. If you walk past Ozzies (on your right) and go over the dry canal you get to the old, old village. Two good places to eat are cafe Rosa and Cp't Sinbad's. From there, walk up the road behind them that runs parallel to the dry canal. You come to the local area with the equivalent of a "Working man's club". Cheapest Efes in Icmeler, cheapest hair cut and shave . Keep walking and you go past the back of the "Adler" and the front of the Mola aprtms. Another 100yds takes you to the main road and you can catch a Dolmus back into town. While you're waiting, have a beer in Tommy's or the Gunes bar. We love this part of Icmeler and I hope the walk puts you off.

The dried up watercourse was a torrent of water last week due to the heavy rain.

Ive been tyring to find a map with the hotels/apts, bars/restaurants (centre and old town) and location to beach and market.
Maybe I'll have more chance of finding on when we're there.
