late music bars not clubs

Postby geovil » 25 Mar 2008 12:40

Just thought about the music all going off after midnight and wondering if any bars still have music on after midnight saves wondering around listening for music or looking to see which ones are soundproofed any suggestions please.

Think the Korsan bar did, but not for long. They have two wooden doors to the dance florr which they close at midnight and blocks some of the sound. Some bars do keep the music on but very low.

Sugar at Buffalo used to but depends on how the police feel that night and how hungry the police dog is

That police dog is weird and wild  it's mental

Last year there are lookouts on corners for the bars, and if they spot the police they signal to the bar to turn it off.

Detective Col after 3 Efes and 5 vodka and cokes, and Detective Dimrie after a barrel of vodka noticed that

Hi All,
They did that at the Harmony bar lsat year   . When the act (Michael aka Stella) finished the audience were told the music would continue after midnight, but if it went of suddenly it was because they had a look out on the corner who tipped them off  :D  .

He also said that the music would be put back on as soon as the police had left :D :D !!

That's the benefit of the bars in the quieter part of the bay  Last year was the first time I was aware of the police coming round that part, although it wasn't every night, it was more obvious than it had been in the past.
:( I do like my loud music into the early hours!!!

I would love an extra hour or two, especially when we eat a bit later, we are too stuffed to enjoy the dancing etc., by the time our food has settled it's time to stop the music. I suppose the answer is to eat earlier as we would here (6pm ish), but then it's too hot and you don't feel like eating.

I also agree with Collette, that police dog is well mental.

Most bars stop open if thev'e got customers, I've never been asked to leave a bar yet, some stop the music at 12 and people seem to drift away, some keep the music going while 3/ 4 am, we regularly stayed in the Deniz Kapisi bar while 3am. They turn the music off when the police come but its straight back on as soon as thev'e gone.

Agree with mick00 there. We've often 'mooched' past Deniz Kapisi after 2am, and its still packed with people doing Karioke (?spelling) and dancing.

The thing that makes us love Icmeler is the fact that the music stops at Midnight.

IMHO the music they play is pretty crap anyway, some of it is good to watch the waiters dance to, but when they start playing all that dance type rubbish into the early hours in other places it p155e5 me off.

This is just my opinion though, so don't flame me for having different music tastes to those of you that like it.

Even though my opinion is generally thought of as Fact!! :D

Last year I noticed that a few of the bars were playing more 'trance, electro' stuff (later on) that was enough to send me home,

We were at Avlu4 last year and as they are set back they didn't bother to turn the music down after midnight and it kept on going with the very noisey residents until at least 2 every morning.

i thinks it's good they "should" turn the music down (not off) as there are clubs to go to if you want

A big differance, when we were there 2005 you could not even talk loud as the staff got in such a panic in case we disturbed the residents & they called the police .
