THE BAMBOO

Postby fatblokecaver » 20 Feb 2008 18:05

Hi all
when we were out there last year we visited the Bamboo a few times, the food was as good as it has been over the last 12 years we have been in Icmeler for our hols.
The matre d Veli had left the year before and had set up a new place in Marmaris (he has now moved to Rhodes) and the place was not really the same. We still have a few friends there and hope that it will not close permenantly. Although we will not be out there this year we will keep an eye on this post to find out whats happening.

Don't worry someone will open it.

I had this kind of discussion the other day with Rami about bars not making money but when they go bust there is always someone to buy it and then lose their money EVERY year.

This global credit crunch thing has a lot to answer for and the owners I'm sure are going to feel the pinch this year, just as we all are.

bad news the bamboo is no more. just a pile of rubble where a thriving dance bar once stood.i blame the influx of the all inclusive.personaly for me watered down beer and a works canteen buffet restaurant, will never take the place of a proper sit down meal served by smiling waiters with ice cold efes and good natured entertainment.[sorry about the rant i'm just disappointed.]

Really sorry to hear this. We used to go most nights for a quiet drink and chill out with nice breeze from the sea.

Bamboo

Postby fatblokecaver » 26 May 2008 21:40

Gutted that the Bamboo has gone. Have spent many nights there listening to Murfitt murdering songs. It was nice to eat a good meal and sit and watch the world go by.
We got to know the owners and head waiters very well - 4 of them live over here.
Dont suppose anyone has any piccies or info of what the site s being turned into???

What is happening to the Bamboo

Postby Trish » 28 May 2008 09:41

I have never been to the Bamboo, but the chef in the new Linekers beach bar worked there before Linekers, if thats any help. The meals were delicious, and had lunches there several times, whilst using free sunbeds, and great fun service from all the guys.

They have classic disco music on in the evenings and a bit of motown, and still have the bar in town.
