Hi All,
Just thought i'd say a quick hello. Had my first Turkish holiday in August 07, stayed at the Pinewood apts, icmeler, and was pleasently surprised. We didn't know what to expect, on a Turkey holiday, but the whole family (me, my wife and my 2 young daughters) had a fantastic time. Spent alot of the time in Dreamboys, on the canal, and also Charlies. In fact we ate out everyday and night, tried loads or restaurantes, and never had a bad meal once - love the food. Did the water park and lazy boat trip and looking forward to doing much more this year.

We have booked up for the Celik apts in August 08 and can't wait to get back to paradise. The whole family are coming this time so there will be 10 of us. Looking at the map, on the Icmeler website, the celik apts seem to be labelled in the wrong place. I think (and hope because I've already booked them) that they are behind the Pinewoood and not further to the right and into the old town as stipulated on map.

Well this quick hello turned out to be a bit longer than expected. Love the site, very adictive. Hope to see some of you out in icmeler in August.

Cheers John

Hi Gene,
Definately been bitten by the icmeler bug, and a few of the little fish in the sea. Its a beautiful place.

I have done some research on the celik apts before booking and been on quite a few of the info sites but it just looks in the wrong position on the map - I think it should be beside Kurt and Pinewood apts.
oh well - still enjoy the hols anywhere in icmeler. :D

Hi Jayne,
You will love the Pinewood, the pools a very good size for Turkey, all staff are friendly and the Turkish food nights are really good value - no entertainment just good food. The bar at the pinewood serves meals, breakfasts/dinners are cheap. Tv behind bar has some live football and there's a table football game for the kids/adults. Most mornings the owners could be seen keeping the beautiful gardens pruned and tidy - infact the place was spotless.

From the Pinewood its a good 10 minute walk into the main part of icmeler, 15 minutes if you have 2 young kids and its 50 degrees. There are a few bars closer by, the best being Dejavu which serves good food and has entertainment on at nights but most of the time we ventured to the canal. Walk out of pinewood down to Tansas (excellent supermarket - try the knorr packet tomoto soup - Mmm) turn right and go as far as the banks, turn left and a few hundred yards and your at the canal. At the canal there are bar/restaurants on both sides and they entice you in with great offers.

Beside the Tansas is a bakery that you can get fresh bread in the morning, don't know how much it is as it changed daily  . Charlies place is on the main strip along from tansas and serves very good food including steaks. Further along on the right is the 3 bells, never went in but it always looked lively and fun.

Beach. About 15 - 20 minutes walk with the kids carrying the inflatables, looked a bit daft with blow up sheep but what the hell. 2 beds and parasol were approx: 5 - 7.50 Lira for the day and you needed them in the heat. The sea is lovely and warm and if you listen carefully you will hear the icmeler chorus - people getting nipped by the little fish, it doesn't hurt - just get alittle bit of a shock.

Trips.
lazy boat - not the ******* welcome but one booked through *******, pay extra for all inclusive as the drinks are steep onboard and you get a free breakfast at charlies. Lovely full day travelling around the coast and plenty of stops for diving into the water. We also did the thomson welcome which was ok.

Aquadream. Booked at ******** on main strip near 3 bells (nice friendly bloke). This waterpark is in marmaris and transport is provided. Strange no money affair where you buy a card and put money onto it then buy things/food by swiping the card. Another great day out, nowhere near as big as the spanish ones but good fun all the same. You have to go into the wave pool, waves are switched on every 30 mins - excellent.

My Big Brothers Recommendation: Jeep Safari. I'll not spoil it for you but wear oldish clothes and take water pistols. enough said - i've seen his video and it looks like great fun. Full day and booked with ******.

Turkish bath. Wife and eldest daughter loved it and came back refreshed. Booked through ****** again. Marmaris with transport - check that the baths take children.

Sorry its a bit long, can't stop once I get started.
Have a great holiday
Cheers John

EDIT: To remove avertising other companys who sell trips etc as ICR is also an agent

Jayne - even better now that the messiah has returned. Toon Toon black n white army.

Fanny - I did think the celik were just behind the pinewood, booked them, then got a shock when I saw where they were on the map. Thanks for confirming the location and now I can relax and look forward to August.

Brownie - I'll keep an eye out for you in august, i'll be the one with the bright red face, burnt back and feet and sitting in the shade sipping on an efes.

Cheers John

Hi John,

glad you enjoyed your first time to icmeler. You're right about Celik aparts being in the wrong position on the map. We stayed at the pinewood a couple of years ago and celik was right next door to us. Our balcony looked over on to their pool and it looks nice, plus you can pop into the pinewood for their wonderful food.

Hi Mr Magoo,
Yes the food is nice at the pinewood, especially the Turkish nights. We must have had similar rooms as we could see 2 other swimming pools - one private the other was the celik I think.

ICR - sorry about the advertising, didn't realise you were a booking agent aswell. Won't happen again.

One thing that puzzles me is if you didnt realise we were a holiday company then to get to the map I have to click it off our main page which is where the accommodations anf lights are that we sell.

Never mind anyway at least you know now and we do also sell the Celik
