Hiya womble, We stayed in the Blue Rainbow hotel last August. It was our first trip to Turkey and we were not too sure what to expect as it was a late booking, and we had heard both good and bad about the country :? .

The hotel was spotless, with wonderful sea views. It is in an excellent location, just around the corner from the beach, and surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants, in fact al you coould want. :D The Amaila bar over the road does great breakfasts for £1, and they are allrealy nice that work there. There is a good sized swimming pool with pool table, pool bar and small play ground for the kids.

My only complaint about the hotel would be the food. I had my three children with me who are quite fussy eaters. We tried the hotel food twice, and ate out for the rest of the two weeks. I would go back to the Blue Rainbow on a room only basis, but I'm not sure if they do that.

We are going back to Icmeler at the end of may but we are staying in apartments this time, we can't wait. I'm sure you will enjoy holiday the resort is fab.

Hi Womble Welcome to the forum. You are just about to embark on your love affair with Icmeler just like the rest of us! How exciting! We all have our favourite clothes shops jewellers restaurants etc. which gives you an idea of how special the place is. Trust jewellers is my personal favourite. (Stand with your back to the Icmeleronline camera in the square and they are on the left hand side run of shops past the flagpole) The Greenhouse is good for clothes, you pay a little more than the markets etc but the quality is good and I am still wearing trousers I bought in 2004. They will also alter anything to fit free of charge and often the same day. We always take English money and exchange it in Icmeler as we get a better rate there than in UK usually. Credit cards accepted in most shops with no problems. Also there are ATM's in the town square for you to draw cash on your debit card. Linekers is one of our favourite bars. Restaurants in the new town----Venice Majestic (both on the canal) Florida and Loveboat & this time I will visit The Chef in the old town re posts on this forum. Hope this has helped. Sue :) :)

hiya LynnJenny,

Theres 13 of us going back the end of May for 2 weeks. Were staying in the Iguana apartments.

We booked through icmeler online, got a really good deal. Last year we booked through another internet company and ended up paying around £600 dearer than we would if we had gone through icmeler online, we didn't realise till we had booked and paid for it. I wont make that mistake again!

My teenage daughter keeps in touch with all the waiters we met through MSN and U Tube, she came home thinking she was a film star because of all the attention she got over there!

Hi womble
Once bitten the Icmeler bug stays with you. I conviced my brother and family to try turkey, out of the last 4 visits they have only strayed once from Icmeler (olu deniz) and are booked for Icmeler again this year as I am.
There are many restaurants and shops - plenty along and by the canal.
The majestic is good food and good entertainment, Romance is very good as is the Waterfall which has a beautiful setting. Lots of cocktail bars - often get 2 4 1 offers. If not to drunk on efes - bottled better than draught in my opinion - then try a fish bowl to really finish you off.
I am going again and will be out there from 28th july for 2 weeks.
Cant wait.
