Thanks Pete!

Because there are only 2 of us, we tend to use Hotels on a B & B footing and eat out the rest of the time. We have looked at various Hotels incl. Dilhan, Diva, Elif etc. just wondered if any one out there can point us in the right direction as these places seem okay but not positive about any!

Wellcome to the forum Mr_T
Have a look at the Blue Rainbow Hotel on the Hotel Page.
Its near to the beach, has a great pool area and poolside bar.
It is situated not far from the canal area and is among a huge rang of bars and restaurents.
Some say the brekkies are not up to much though.
Icmeleronline will take care of all your booking arrangements i.e.
Flights if needed,transfares and accomadtion.
Click on the link to have a look at the Blue Rainbow.

We stayed in the Blue Rainbow in Sept last year views from balcony second to none,i have to disagree with Gene regarding the pool bar as we found it not very hospitable the young lady behind the bar seemed to give the impression that she would rather be somewhere else when all of us would rather be in icmeler than somewhere else. All in all Blue rainbow great location wth fantastic views.W e also go in June from cardiff but staying in the Melita for 2 weeks cant wait

Hi, Mr T I would try the Devamli Hotel next to the Diva, we have stayed there for the last three years wonderful hotel very friendly, very clean and also has a Sports Bar attached to it which is great especially if you like sports, they have all the footie matched on live and rugby and racing.

Check it out.

Clare :)

Thanks Team!

Obviously you all like the Blue Rainbow, but can you give me any information about the Hotels that I mentioned ie. Dilhan, Diva, Elif & Heat & Breeze and how about the Melita as that too seems popular. :D

Hi Mr_T

We stayed at the Elif 2 years ago and it was fine - however reading some of last years posts, it has gone downhill, so I wouldnt be looking to stay there again......Collette stayed there, I believe last year, so maybe she knows different???

Last year we (just a couple who like B & B basis only) tried Kontes Beach Hotel - ssshhh, not one of ICR's, but only because it doesn't have a pool, I was told...... who needs a pool, its right on the beach. Very clean, food was good, and it was very reasonably priced too. Anyway we are going back this year.

Hope this helps.

Interesting response JB, my wife was fancying the Elif because of where it is and also the Dilhan, no takers on that one yet! We do prefer around the pool to being on the beach, however we do like to saunter along the beach as well.

Many thanks for your comments!

Stayed at Elif same time as Colette last year and would never stay there again.Stayed at Dilhan about 4 years ago, small and friendly hotel our room on 1st floor did not have air conditioning. The hotel is very central and close to beach. We prefer to stay is apartments, never cook in them but do like to have a fridge for drinks and can make a cup of tea,it is so cheap to eat out.

Seems that the Elif is out of the question and the Dilhan seems okay along with the Blue Rainbow and the Devamli.

Maybe we should be looking at Apartments as well...........What prices are they with a pool?

Any suggestions!

Hi Mr T

If you click on the link on the home page for apartments it will show you all the ones that ICR do and will show you how much per night it is.
Or you could ring Sharon or John on the 0151 289 3939 number they are very helpfull and they can also sort out your transfere and flights if needed.
Once you have had alook at the apartments and seen what you like I am sure if you ask about it on here you will get all the information you will need.

Mr T

We usually SC and rent an apartment [5 of us], but visited Dilhan a couple of years ago on a bargain break when there were just me & eldest daughter

It's very central and tucked off the main road. Enjoyed our stay there & it's worth thinking about if you're looking for cheap & cheerful.
Rooms and balconies a bit on the small side although maybe that's just cos we're not used to hotels??

Nice pool and staff were lovely

Re your comments about not being above bars etc....wouldn't worry too much about noise generally since all music's to be turned off at midnight

Thank Fanny,

No music after Midnight, is that everwhere except nightclubs or do bars close their doors and turn their speakers around to face in rather than out. If no music then is it an early to bed resort? :(

Mr T

Think everyone on here will agree it's not an early to bed resort at all  It's just not an all night everywhere bar shows/dancing/boom boom resort

Nightclubs carry on until silly-o'clock, but bars have to turn music down low at 0.00 or face a fine and possible closure for a couple of days.
Bars stay open until the small hours but quietly :D

We're usually ready for a nice quiet drink and a natter by the time the Police drive through town to remind the bar owners of the time!

Please don't let this put you off!

One hotel I can recommend is the Mandalin - dead central, not too big, comfy rooms with decent balconies, free air conditioning and full size fridge with ice box (they say it's a mini bar so it was stocked, but they didn't mind me storing my drinks in it, unless that went unnoticed?), and TV with several English channels, nice pool and very reasonably priced (bookable through Icmeleronline). I stayed there in August last year and am booked again for September.

The Diva Hotel ss OK but very basic and rooms are small. The Devamli is the nicer of the two hotels, but it depends what you want really - they're next door to each other in a great loction.

Apartment wise I can recommend the Siesta Apartments which are also available on this site.

It's worth opting for a private transfer through Icmeleronline, you can pick up a cheap coach transfer for about £16 each way but the journey can take up to 3 hours! Private car/minibus will take less than 1.5 hours.

As for the music going off at midnight don't worry and as Fanny says, please don't let it put you off. There are still bars open until the small hours, but if you're a bit of a "rager" and you want to party on after the bars have gone quiet in Icmeler get on a dolmus (local bus) to Marmaris which is only a 15 minute ride away where you can party until dawn on Bar Street.

That's one of the things I, and many others love about Icmeler, you've got the best of both worlds.

You'll love Icmeler - and I'm sure you'll be well and truly bitten by the Icmeler bug (as most of us on this forum have been!).
