winter chat thread

Postby Frankiel » 06 Dec 2007 17:30

Hi all from extremely wet and windy Norn Iron. I'm really hacked off now reading how organised most of you are for Christmas. I haven't started Xmas shopping yet and am rapidly going into panic mode. We'll be putting up the xmas tree this weekend so hopefully that will motivate me. I think the winter chat thread is a great idea but I'm missing the webcam. I've managed to get some photos of Icmeler as my screensaver so I can drift back to my favourate place every day for a while. :) Wish me luck with the shopping! I'm going to need it.

Hi I'm Susan from a miserable, wet St Helens :(
I am so ashamed but I haven't even bought my Christmas cards or thought about putting the tree up yet.

Just finished decorating and having a new staircarpet fitted next week so I might just hang a bit of tinsel around the place then!!
I'm very organised at work but not a bit like that in my home life!!!

By the way Collette, this is a brilliant idea cos although Icmeler is great I run out things to chat about. Especially in winter.

LOL!!! So was I! I think there must be some sort of a time delay on the site, or someone's clock is out of sync....... There was no way I was sitting at the 'puter at that time of the morning. 8)

Put our tree and decorations up tonight. Not written any cards yet, better get a move on! Shopping is coming along nicely, but then again I was on holiday last week and was out every day fighting my way through the crowds. I thought it wouldnt have been so busy in Edinburgh mid week, but it was.
Weather was cold but nice today after a lousy weekend, but very frosty tonight! Santa Claus is coming to town

Supposed to be -4 tonight so thank goodness our heating hasn't packed in (yet) like it usually does at the first hint of frost. Got it wapped up full all night.

Put the decs up tonight to try and spur me on..cards still in the bag in the kitchen, pressie shopping not even started and still waiting for kids to tell me what they'd like

Never mind though it'll all fall into place as always

Hello everyone, this is Christine from Hertfordshire.

Christmas is really getting me down! Trying to keep everyone happy is a nightmare. I have a house full to cook for on Christmas Day and as my birthday is on Christmas Day also I find this very unfair  I think I should have a alternative birthday like the Queen - celebrate it in Turkey instead of eating Turkey

Colette my daughter went to bed last night with her PJ's on as well as 1 jumper ,a fleece, 2 pairs of socks and a hot water bottle.Wish It was July and we were soaking up the sun in paradise.Repair man is supposed to be coming today to fix it but still no sign of him.Have you got your heating problem sorted out yet? Hope we don't have another night without it.Might have to have a wee hot whiskey to warm me up.

I had the meter changed yesterday, after having a new heater put in and having all the parts replaced in it even though they were new, it came on at 3 am and i woke up at 4 am in bed thinking I was back in Icmeler with the heat

Mine is a storage heater so now its used all its heat up and its back to icicles hanging off me nose again and sitting here in a scarf :?

Glad your is working now Lynda :D It's horrible being freezing isn't it ?

Now where is that hot whiskey

Hope all the cold mortals are feeling warmer now and are thawing out.

Out Thursday night for our practice Chrissy meal and a bit of boogying, so starting to feel a bit Christmassy now, plus all the biscuits and chocs starting to roll in from the patients. Does nothing for the old waistline!

Hate Winter Hate Winter

Postby geovil » 13 Dec 2007 13:58

Hi everyone just thought I would add my thoughts we live in Cheshire, the weather outside at the moment is just lingering above freezing, but it will drop to freezing tonight,I am a bit dismayed we can't get on to the Icmeler web cam to see a bit of sunshine,we have just about bought all our presents now, looking forward to a night out in Liverpool on Sunday, and then Christmas dinner with all our family, not Christmas & New Year as such,as I work as a taxi driver so will be working most of the holiday but it all brings next year a little closer,we usually look to have a break in the sun early in the New year, never did it last year as we went to a Theme weekend at Pontins in Ainsdale never again, the year before we went to Lanzarote in February to find it was the coldest February in Lanzarote for 50 years, hows that for luck,so will be looking for somewhere thats having a freak heatwave, roll on June and Icmeler.
