Walked round these apartments last year, they are central, just round the corner from the Geordie Bar.
Rooms are bright and airy but have small balconies, full self catering facilities.
Outside, largish pool and sunbathing area, sunbeds and brollies, outside bar also serviceing this area.
10 mins stroll to the promenade and sea, shops, bars and restaurents just minutes from the apartments.

Hi Tracy,

My wife and i first came to Icmeler 10 years ago, and AVLU IV where our first apartments (they wearnet called that at the time, theyve since been bought out and had money spent on them).

You will get a nice quiet holiday, staff are extreemly friendly, theres a nice quiet bar by the pool, air conditioning is effective, infact cant fault the place. Weve returned at least 7 times since, keep trying somewhere else and then going back to somewhere we know will be trouble free.

Also, a stones throw from the Moonlight Restauraunt, which you really should give a try.

Njoy!!

Hi
You won't be disappointed with these apartments, lovely big pool too. Apartments are really clean and the staff are very helpful. In a quieter area but only 5 mins to the canal and all the nightlife. One thing I would say if you don't like walking upstairs request a first floor flat as they are a bit steep, or maybe I'm just unfit 8)

My family just got back form these apartments beginning of July, and as usual they were great. Nice pool and spacious. Hope this helps, if you need anything else just ask.

I stayed here for 2 weeks in July.

The apartment in its self was of good size however i did feel the self catering facitilies were limited in that there wasnt even 2 pots.

Great location in that they are close enough to walk anywhere but far enough from direct noise.

All staff are really friendly and if you can talk them into having a BBQ night they are also up for a late night pool party. Think it may have helped that the crowd that stayed while i was there were really friendly and all up for a good laugh.

Say Hi from Fiona and D'Arcy while you're there please.

we have just got back 16 september after two great weeks apartments are basic but clean equipment for cooking is basic but we did not cook meals so was ok a toaster would of been usefull but we made toast on the hot plate. pool was big enough for us but if you can not swim it would be a problem as its 5ft deep no shallow end but nearly all the pools in icmeler were the same. bar staff are a laugh mehmet(ok lar) is great no matter what time day/night he will always have a joke with you.the bar at night you have to keep the noise down you can not laugh or talk loud so the bar was empty at night.e had a room on the 4th floor a good veiw over icmeler you could just about see the sea.safety deposit boxes are in the room so all your posesions are safe.any more info just pm me

hey,

we stayed at the avlu 4 in july and r going back on september 23 for a week! these are great apartments to stay in, very clean and a decent size pool, the only drawback being you lose the sun about 5'oclock.

everyone was really friendly, especially the barstaff ooze and mehmet. Mehmet was always up for a laugh, really funny!!!!

cant wait to get back there, would recommend it 2 anybody! x

hello fiona and d'arcy......we were there with you in july

I think you will find that you lose the sun more like 3 - 4 pm, we were there in July also.

Nice size pool??? No thought it was too small for the amount of apartments. We had a good holiday, but wouldnt go there again - as for Mehmet, yes he was friendly for the first week until he decided to move on to someone else. Oz was lovely, really sweet.

But god forbid anyone talking after 12 pm!!! In fact I was told that they were fined £1,000 for playing music after 12 and now have to turn music of at 11 pm.

We are going back next year but to Travellers Rest, cheaper than Avlu 4, nicer bigger pool and a lot more sunbeds.

well i thought the pool was a good enough size!!! the week we was there was very busy and we had some great days in the pool, with everyone joining in mucking about!

i do agree tho that oz is lovley and very sweet but must disagree about mehmet, he was friendly to everyone when i was there and i think he is hilirous! (sorry cant spell)

he did tell us to keep the noise down after 12 but people rarely listened and as long as we werent to loud they didnt seem to mind!

Sophia,
I think yours was a very good constructive report,I have heard lots of good reports on the Avlu 4 that back yours up.It seems to me,that this guest just wants to contradict everything that you have written.

I am not trying to contradict everything you say, I am just giving my opinion. Whilst we were there, maybe be caught mehmet not in a particularly good mood - he was great to start, but then another set of people arrived who is felt he had to impress and started "showing off" while they were around.

We had to ask him one day to turn off some music he was playing really loud which was inappropriate for children as it was full of swearing - ok when adults are around. When we asked him to turn it off he acted all innocent saying he didnt know it was swearing. From then on, he didnt seem to want to know us! and it wasnt only us - we made lots of friends with 3 different families, and they all said the same. In fact we have all booked to go to the Travellers Rest same time next year.

On our last night we were waiting to be picked up to go to the airport - we are not "rowdy" people, we were all sat in the bar 4 families, just chatting it was about 2 am in morning. We were writing in the guest book etc, and mehment even turned the lights off and made is wait in the dark. He also kept pestering one of friends daughters to go out with him - even though she wasnt interested.

Also on our last day he decided to charge us for snooker, although during the two weeks we were never charged for snooker table. When asked about it he said he had given is free for 2 weeks, but had to charge us and tried to charged us for 3 games the girls never had.

We had trouble with the sunbeds someone deciding to reserve them at 1 am in a morning, so by the time we were up, no sunbeds left. We had to complain to the management about it who did eventually bring in more sunbeds.

This is my opinion, and is all true - not trying to contradict anyone - we had a lovely holiday all in all, just the little things about Avlu 4 that made us decide to go somewhere else.

Oh yes, and the manager there tried to make as pass at me - he doesnt speak particularly good english - but whenever I passed him he was calling me all the time, suggesting I "go and visit him alone - kept this quiet as it would have ruined our holiday if I had told my husband. He stopped being suggestive eventually when I started to avoid him.

Even "sweet" Oz was seeing at girl who was only 14 - hes 21! her parents thought it was quite amusing!

Well i've got to agree with Sophia on this one, we enjoyed the stay here and the staff were all great with us. Even the owner and his family joined us for the BBQ/Pool party the second week.

Ok, the manager (or is he a supervisor cause i never seen him do anything) was a creep and the best thing for him was to tell the staff he had attempted to chat you up, that soon stops him from even looking your way again

Yes the noise had to be kept down at 12 but thats the same everywhere in icmeler now. Having said that we were often sat till very early hours at the bar or by the pool with other guests till the very small hours and they were not a quiet bunch.

Hi Hilary, Sophie, Dennis - hope you are all well

We did enjoy our holiday - just saying we wouldnt go to Avlu 4 again.

I know the music is turned down after 12 in Icmeler, - but Mehmet wouldnt even let us speak never mind laugh!!! so in the end we never stayed in the Bar, went somewhere more welcoming! like I say, maybe we caught him having a bad time or something. I was told they were fined £1,000 for playing music after 12 at night and now have to turn it off at 11 pm.

As for the supervisor/manager - you are right is was a "creep" - I must say he is the only "creep" I have come across in Turkey.

I think because we had someone staying there who "took over the place - pool and sunbeds included and because we werent like that, we got overlooked, we werent over powering enough!

Looking forward to returning next year to Travellers Rest with our friends we met at Avlu 4.

Anyone else who goes to Avlu I am sure will have a great time.
