Gypsy Beach And The Sunset

Postby redrhino12 » 05 Oct 2007 10:33

Setting off at about 10-30am in the morning,a small group of about 10 of us set off for a pleasant day out to Gypsy Beach not far from Hisaronu the adopted home of Kevin, alias Chelsea Boy,who spent the whole day with us.

We travelled along the Datca road, turning off at the Hisaronu sign and threaded our way along the narrow lanes until we arrived at Gypsy Beach.
We arrived at this lovely tranquil beach with beautifull views of the surrounding mountains, and in the far disance we could see the Greek island of Symi.

Our base on the beach was a little restaurent serving the Cub Rena a small holiday compex made up of small wooden chalets.
We had the ue of the Club Rena pool and surrounding scatter cushions,as well as the sunbeds and sunshades on the beach.

The day was layed back, everyone enjoying the sun and gentle breeze off the sea.

Lunch was taken at the restaurent, and Ann and myselfe chose chicken on a skewer with pasta and chips with a side salad and of course this was all washed down with a pint of ice cold Efes.
The meal and drinks were all extra to the cost of the trip.

We decided before we all left this idylic place that we would experience the "Sun Setting" behind the distant mountains that Chelsea Boy had told us so much about.

At about 6-50pm we all posistioned ourselves in a place were we thought each of us could get a good picture.

As the sun began to set, everything seemed to go calm, there was hardly any sound except for the waves gently lapping the seashore.

For a short moment everything seemed to standstill, the sky went red,the sea also gave the impression of being "On Fire"
Everyone looked at each other, each wanting this sight never to end.
Who had got the best picture?,
what we all did agree on was that we had all experienced a most beautifull scene.

Thanks to Chelsea Boy for telling us to wait and see the Sunset",
It was nice to have met you Kevin.

Boarding our small bus we headed back to Icmeler and within 30mins we were being dropped of at the ICR office.
A remarkable day out and one to remember and all this for just £20 each.

Sorry for putting the pics on this page but felt you had to see them while reading the review.
Smack my legs if I am out of order, Colette will soon put me right when she comes back off holiday.

Gipsy Beach and the sunrise

Postby Frankiel » 05 Oct 2007 11:03

Hi Gene - those are really fantastic photos. You write a cracking report and make us all wish we were there. Guess what? Four of us are heading for Icmeler early hours of Monday. Yippeeee!!! Was looking at the webcam this morning and there doesn't seem to be a lot of people about. Is there still a buzz in Icmeler, or have we left it a wee bit late?

There are still lots of people in the resort.
Weather was fantastic while we were there, shirt sleave order at night.
One of the bars buzzing at the moment is the Dream 3 Bells, and The nightclub to visit is the "Pleasure" this night club was packed while we were there.
Visit the Korsan on the Canal as well.
The rate is 2.40YTL to the £

Hi Tony,
The camera is a Fugi f40, but I have ruined half my pics because I dont know how to use it properly.
I must read the camera manual.

Got that spot by the pool every day, the last 3 days we had it all to ourselves, you should have shouted Tony and I would have come round to the ICR offices and had a talk.

Gypsy Beach & the Sunset

Postby elkie » 05 Oct 2007 14:15

WOW!! Amazing pics Gene. The ones of the sunset are super, well worth waiting around for. By the way, welcome back. We were there same time as you but came back last Monday and the weather was great wasn't it? Nice and hot but not burning you and making you feel knackered. A couple of nights I needed my pashmina but on the whole was warm enough without.
Think you've brought a bit of that sun back with you, let's hope it lasts :D

Lovely photos Gene. We watched the sun rise one morning which was spectacular too.

Had to laugh at Tony's remark that he saw you on a sun bed whilst visiting the ICR offices. We also saw you last May through the window, and again Taz pointed you out!!!!!

Hi Christabel,
Before I left Icmeler I had to have that sunbed surgicly removed from my back because I had spent that much time on it.

Always try to get my same sunbathing spot, hence putting the towels out at 2am after my night out

Gypsy Beach and the Sunset

Postby redrhino12 » 08 Feb 2010 11:54

I dont know if ICR still do this trip but it was one we did a couple of years ago,and for the newcomers on the forum who have never seen the report I thought that they may be able to view some of the excursions that we used to do.

viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3630&hilit=gypsy+beach

This has got to be one of my favourite places, chilling is the order of the day.

Its one that I normally do for just the select few  over the years but if we get enough interest I don't see why it can't be a weekly thing on maybe a Sunday
