Holiday review......

Postby Me » 25 Aug 2007 23:42

Hello everybody.......

Sorry it has taken me so long to tell you about our holiday, things have been a bit hectic since we came home. Still better late than never.....

We stayed at the Lighthouse apartments which were really good. Rose, jimmy, gerard and all the staff couldn't do enough for us.
We didn't really eat in the big restaurants much this year, we went to the small turkish places for a wee change. Must say they were all really good.

We went to Temmels, Pedi Paradise, Nefis Pedi and alot of the wee places that sell the lovely kebabs and wraps. We also found a proper turkish kitchen in Marmaris which was absolutley fabulous and so cheap, we went there a few times.
We took the local Dolmus bus to Akyaka for a day trip. (Well actually 3 buses) Well worth a visit, what an absolutley goergous place. I think we were the only British people there. The resort is full of Turkish people on their holidays, very friendly and the beach was great. The water is very shallow and there are plenty of water sport things to do.

We went to the Magic garden bar for the first time this year. Why have we not been there before? It was a great wee bar. We also went to the Stella show, i must admit i was quite dissapointed, i thought it was very crude this year. I think He/She is funny enough without that.

Went to the Hobgoblin bar one night which was a great laugh. We had our lunch in Rosa's cafe in the old village, we have past this place so many times and never been in. I would definateley recommend this place the food was out of this world and Rosa is such a lovely lady. Had strawberry cheese cake and apple pie in cafe Anna's (next to Vince's bar) Got to be the best cakes in Icmeler.
We couldn't stay in Icmeler without our usual visit (or three) to Ozzy's place in the old village. What can i say that hasn't already been said. The food was wonderful, as was Ozzy and all his staff. ( No surprise there then)
Took some pictures of the GREEN CAR and other bits and bobs that i think will be of interest to some people. Will download when i learn how to.

Going back to Icmeler on 13th October. I will have to visit all these lovely places again, what a chore
