You can use a Solo card without any problems, I have been using mine for the past 6 years abroad without any hassle the only time I have hassle is in our very own UK and Turkey hasn't been a problem in the last 4 years

Do you get charged for using any particular card at the atm.

If so which ones are free.

Thanks for your help.

It's your bank who will more than likely charge you for withdrawing money - from previous posts the Nationwide seem to be the only one who doesn't.

When I used my Halifax electron card it cost me £1.50 - although when I got my bank statement when I returned home I did seem to get a slightly better rate than when I exchanged my traveller's cheques!

So you should check with your bank as to what they may charge you? Also you might also have to contact them to advise them you will be using your card in another country and tell them the dates - its more to with secirty and making sure it's you using your card. As I tried to use mine this May and had to call them and thats when I was told I should have called them first oops! But after that it was ok.

Happy hoidays :D
