Laura thats a long time to spend in the bar! We're going from Glasgow on 20th Aug and check in is 3 hours before, so different airlines have different check in times. Check those tickets!

I'm flying from Glasgow too!! Not till 1st October. Received a letter from the airline saying check in time had gone up to 4 hours, but then that was just after all the carry on there in June. Maybe by the time we get the tickets it will have gone down to 3. A friend of mine went away a week ago & they to had to be there 4 hours before.

When I used to sell holidays no matter where the customer was flying from and where they were travelling to the check-in time is 3hrs before or if you've pre-booked your seats just 1½hrs before.

I like to check in as early as I can so that you are not queuing for ages and you get a better choice of seats on the plane.
And as someone said, you can always wait in the bar

Security at Manchester can take upto 90 minutes during the peak period on a Monday morning, spoke to a Police Officer on the 16th July and he said that the security queue that morning had snaked around the main hall and up into the check in area.

Make sure you have plenty of time.

I always fly from Manchester and the check in times have always been the same. The check in desks open 3 hours before the flight is due out, but the say to get therev 2 hours before so it is entirely upto you how you do it. I would recommend getting there earlier though because of all the new security problems - it can be a nightmare alot of the time.

Hope this helps anyone
