To be honest I wouldn't let any of the comments put me off, everyone has a different view of situations as I said earlier, if the hassle threshold is passed I am sure a quiet word would work.
Hassle is a way of life in Turkey it,s something you come to accept, I always have a laugh and a joke with them but never promise them you will eat or drink in their premises on another occasion because they have very long memories and wil hassle you more until you do.

Have a nice holiday

How come the people in this bar can hassle the guests yet other places are closed for hassle, go and complain, I know I will be :D

Show me the way to the hassle police

Oh dear, this appears to be getting silly now. I've just looked at the website on which I first saw the poor reviews (see first post on this thread), and there's a new report which mentions fistycuffs.

I wonder if there's any truth in this - can't see it some how. Anyway NO-ONE is spoiling my 2-weeks in the sun!!!!!!!!

Colette, maybe they're allowed to hassle - after all it's not on the street, it's in their own bar.

I'm sure they'll find themselves with a very empty bar if they behave in an overly heavy way, and any customers they do have will probably be there under protest.

Can I just say that Jaffa the manager of the hotel and his wife and staff are lovely people. The bar is leased to someone else and their staff are the masters of hassle. Everyone coming from the beach gets it in one form or other. We just crossed the road and ignored them.

Phew weapon - things may be on the up. Go back to my original posting on this thread, and follow the link. There's now another review which appears to be OK. You never know, the powers that be may have read the concerns on this site and been shamed into behaving themselves

Let us know what happens on your return. You seem to have the same attitude as us, so would be great to know how you get on.
they will only spoil it for themselves as i will certainly not be intimidated into using the bar

Hotel Elif

Colette, We are at the Efes for 2 weeks, flying from Manchester 24th Sept . We have recently booked for 2 weeks in Icmeler from 23rd August like 3 weeks from now but are not going to the Elif until end of June next year. Norman has asked me to keep an eye on Diane this Sept as he was a bit worried about her comment last week about in bed by 10pm with a Mr O . Valtine he dosn't trust the Italians.
Will probably see you in Sept. With or without my smilie face badges , I spent at least 10 minutes over the design ( see An Idea From Erik ).
