colds

Postby clare » 25 Jul 2007 21:37

Hi I am up to the neck in a cold and I fly out to Icmeler a week on sunday does anyone have any remedies for getting rid of it quickly as I do not want it lingering on until I go, cannot let it get in the way of my holiday nothing worse than a red nose on holiday.

Any suggestions welcomed!! :(

 hope you haven't got a fever too. Dose yourself up with plenty of paracetamol, hot drinks like lemon and honey to soothe the old throat. If your nose is really blocked try buying some menthol crystals from the chemists, put a few in a bowl of boiling water and stick your face over the bowl, with a towel over your head and inhale.......Its lethal, but is certainly clears the sinuses.

Failing that, get the whiskey out and drown your sorrows!

Hope you feel much better before jetting off.

Most colds last only 3 or 4 days, you will be all right, by the time you go, there is a nasty bug going around my

Clare, as you say you like wine, what I do when I've got the cold is heat up some red wine in a cup in the microwave, and drink it down in one. Makes you sweat it out

...only problem is I can't fit the whole bottle into the microwave - but what a great idea!
