how exciting

as many of you's probs do like you sunday lunch
we are wondering where is the best place to go for one?
as we went to a place last year & it really wasnt nice

so all answers will be appreciated

go see chrissy in the geordie bar
they have sunday dinner in these big clay pots
and if you do tell her i will be over in sept to see her lol

Only had the sunday lunch in 3bells
But the yorshire puddings are massive...well worth a try!!
The lunch is gorgeous...my mum had it almost everyday whilst there in May.

I love my Sunday Lunch and I think a lot of the restaurants do an excellent one, but my fav is the Old Famous Kitchen.

I go to Icmeler to get away from the usual old sunday dinner, what is this thing with people that they must have english..sorry British food when they go away?!

LOL ,,, i'm with you on this one Erik .... sunday roast dinner is for cold , wet , cloudy UK ...... not Turkey . Unfortunately so many british are going over wanting their fry ups , fish and chips , steak and kidney puds that its everywhere you go . I still remember the good old days in Turkey when there was none of this .

What is it when someone says I like fry ups in a morning and I love my Sunday dinner do we have the same old "I dont go to Turkey to eat British style food".

Does it matter if a person wants cheese on toast or even bread and jam.
We all go to Turkey for the Sun Friendship and scenery.

I like to eat food I am familair with ie:-steaks,chicken etc.when on holiday.
If I were to try and experiment while on holiday I would get the Heaby Jeebies,and probably finish up with the shish-ki-babs.

Just leave me alone with my fry up and Sunday Lunch,Apple pie and cream.
Everyone else,
can eat what you want.

I would just like to say my dad and myself eat basic English food over there as we have many many food allergies, and it only takes a tiny amount of the food I can't eat to be consumed and I can be very very ill for days.

I'm with Eric, Sunday lunch or carvery is a no no on holiday, even when we go for a drive on a Sunday at home and stop for a meal we wouldn't consider a roast dinner. I love roasts but I like to try something different when I go out.

I do like to experiment on holiday and i love the korean food in 3bells...but it would be rude not to try the sunday roast when seeing the size of the Yorkshire puds.
Whatever we eat in Icmeler the food is lovely-which is why we always go back to our fave restaurants..no matter if traditional english food or not...they make our "english" food taste better

To put this in perspective,
I spend 48 weeks a year eating Mrs Genes Sunday lunches.
Although during the war these were nourishing and substantial and eating my Roast and mash with a slice of gravy is quite filling.
But for me to visit Turkey and see them emulate what my wife offers and I am not forced to eat every bit, to me is an important part of my holiday.

I look foreword to the change in diet as in using oil to fry the bacon against Mrs Genes half a pound of lard.

So you see I AM eating completely different food while I am away.

I hope you all enjoy what you choose off the menu but please give a thought to the less fortunate who have to travel to experience the basics.
