Hi Holz,
I am still wearing sack cloth and ashes afrer hearing of the sale of the "Lion Bar" :(
I was told by the previous owners it would no longer be a fun pub but a coffee and bun cafe.
To me this is not possible, the floor area is huge, everything is geared up for the place to put on entertainment and serve meals.
Surely the new owners would see it working as a fun bar and base any purchase on this type of venue.

I am in contact with a couple of the gymnasts and breakdancers from the Lion and at the moment they dont know were they will be working this season, but say they will inform me when they have jobs so will keep you informed.

Well I can honestly say thats one of the best ideas yet.
The Rhino being mine hoste at the Lion.
I wouldnt change a lot in the way the boys organised the floor shows as I thought they did a fantastic job.
Maybe introduce myselfe as a breakdancer and also employ the Icmeleronline singers from last year, dressed in drag.
All ICR guests would drink and dine Free everynight of their holiday.
We could get a couple of starlets to open the Bar,
I am thinking of Debs and Colette of the famous "Icmeler wave" to do this honour.

Me sitting at "MY" table all summer consuming gallons upon gallons of Efes
O let the mind wonder,
surely no one person could experienc such joy and happiness.

i am all for passing the hat round to assist gene in his new venture.he would make an excelent host .while learning his trade,he has spent many years in the seedier bars and night clubs.so now he knows enough to avoid the pitfalls of twenty four hour efes and donner wraps.an elegant man( especially in his off the shoulder number and sling backs)with a voice more in tune with bingo calling than singing.i for one would have a new local in icmeler.i would even dust down the sailor suit and limp my way through a hornpipe on opening night.cheers

Quote, "a voice more in tune with bingo calling"
David I think I have got your number.
The passing of the hat,and your offer to do a turn on opening night is accepted.

If only we had done these things in our younger years,(I meen owning a bar not dressing up in off the shoulder numbers and wearing five inch heels)

Boehoe!

Postby margotje87 » 19 Jul 2007 13:37

Boehoeeee, i'm depressed ever since the Lion boys told us it was closed. How could they? Are they crazy or something?
I just hope some of the boys are in Icmeler when we get back (31 july-28 august) because we would like to see them, even if it's just for a minute.
Fero, Mehmet, Nail, Ismail, Ali, Rafael, Jusuf, Erhan.... Just every boy we've met over there!
It's just a shame something good like the Lion bar is gone because of something stupid like money!

Margot

Ps. Gene, i would like to chip in. Even if it's just 5 euro (i'm a poor dutch student), but I do want to chip in!

Margot dont be to upset, because a lot of the Lion boys have just gone down the road to the Amor Bar (The Old Blue Corner)
Ebo is at De Ja Vu in the Old Village.
Yusef is in the army.
Erol,Mike,Servete, and fero will all be there in August because he will be back from Uni.

We will be in the Amor from the 16th August,I will be the good looking guy dancing on the bar so come over and have a chat.

Dont usually take money off poor students Margo but if you insist.

Lauren there is only so much room on that bar for dancing, you and your Michael Andre and myselfe, Ann if she has had her phylisan.
We will be the only whiteies there because you will all have had a few days sun.
WE talk about party nights I am hoping for 14 of them.
Just ordered a few barrels of Efes for our party theme nights.

Get that music on Lauren, bring on the dancers,
light a few fireworks, order those fishbowls,
roses will be delivered to our tables.

Only one thing holding me back now is the plane isnt going till the 16th August.

Gene, thanks! I feel a lot better knowing a few of the boys are still there! I'm the big chested girl with brown curled hair who's dancing on every possible bar in icmeler, next to a tall skinny blonde. So if you see us, come and say hello! 8)
