Hi Sue, yes the first time we went to Turkey in 93 we enquired at the surgery and got a health questionaire to fill in then the practice nurse called us and told us what we needed. My tetanus and polio are up to date and i think the typhoid lasts for 10 years, i know its over that now but i haven't gone back to see if they recommend getting them again.

Typhoid injections last for 3 years, Hep A (as long as you have a booster after 6 months) will cover you for 10 years. We've always kept our injections up to date, as we travel quite a lot. Why risk your health, there's nothing worse than feeling ill and not being in your own home.

Im so scared of needles that ive never had the vaccinations. My other half had them the 1st time we went and he had no troubles at all with being bitten-i on the other hand was covered in them, im not sure if me not having the injections had anything to do with this??? Anyone know if this could be the case. If so im going to be brave and get the jabs as i hate having unsightly bits all over

i would advise anyone going anywhere to have the vaccinations which are recommended, we have been going to turkey for 9 years now and this year i caught something in May and still suffering now, I have just had a chest xray as the doctor is baffled as to why i am still coughing after 2 months, i still think it was the airconditioning myself. So beware everyone get what you can to keep yourself healthy you dont want it to spoil your holiday in Icmeler do you
