Ive been told its still being run by Ilyas, with Ibrahim (who was at Richards/Dejavu/many years ago Venedik) and presume his other brother Ismail (known as Smiley or Smiler) still there with them... They were all there last year, certainly for most of the season... not sure what other staff are in restaurant and cant comment on the hotel itself as i havent stayed in there since 2004.

I have just tried to book the Elif Hotel for my daughter this August but it is full till the end of the month.
That will teach me to leave booking till the last minute, wait to long and the best places have been booked up.

Dont know if Elif is still twinned with Rainbow as the little gateway between them is now blocked off I always used to use that to avoid Elif bar staff, I didnt see anyone going into Rainbow to eat anymore. But Elif is still really good hotel seemed to be a lot of new staff in hotel and the people on reception were different but still friendly and very helpful. The bar has changed hands the guy that used to own it used to have his young daughter on the money taking wasnt around this year, its a good bar but they think because you staying in hotel you should eat there each night I like to try different places. One of the guys was a bit put out cos I wouldnt go to the turkiish night I have been to them in the previous years and just fancied a change this year.

Dancing Lucy

Do you or does anyone know where that Guy and his Daughter have moved to that use to run the Elif Bar ? We have been there a few times and will be going back soon. We were hoping to catch up with them. I guess we all have to move on but it would have been nice to see a familiar face again....

HI again, the brother in law just got back, stayed in the Elif, he says it has been taken over and in no longer anything to do with the Blue Rainbow although he still had to go there for his evening meal. He didn't venture very far because it was so hot, a tip he gave me is get ice water from the shop across the road as it is expensive in the Elif, they didn't have a mini bar in the room either, but he said he had a great time. He said the Majestic was the best place to eat, he was dissapointed with the Chinese. He was impressed with the ICR transfer, just the 2 of them in a taxi, ice cold water supplied and only one and a half hours journey, he brought me a couple of brochures back which I will be looking through later.

Diane and Lynn,
Its ok to spend time with Colette, but please keep her from dancing on the bar at the venice.
After one or two Efes shandies its the, cha cha slide, kiss kiss and a bit of breakdancing.

Colette don't let me learn bad habits,I have told Norman I will behave myself and he has his spys all over the place  I have already asked Taz for a sea view for us and she said yes.
Lynn it would be nice to meet up for a drink,of course I only drink water during the day :D so maybe would be better at night.

Well if there's a party happening in late Septeber, dont' forget us. We're at the Elif from 17th. Hey I could go round all the bars testing the temperature of Efes at each one, then when Dimrie, Colette & Lynn M arrive on 28th I could let you all know which one serves the coolest - but I bet you wouldn't believe me and insist on going around them all yourself just to be sure :!:

And guess what, I wanna sea view too
