Heat

Postby Yorkshire Rose » 27 Jun 2007 09:51

Have been keeping an eye on the temperatures in Turkey and seems the heatwave is to continue, is the heat unbearable? A little concerned about this but will be glad to get away from the flooding we have had here in Yorkshire. I saw on the news the some people have died in other countries due to the heat. Anyone who as just come back, would appreciate your advice.

My friend is just back from 2 weeks in Turkey she said it was ROASTING HOT , a lot of people suffering heat stroke and dehydration and it is to get hotter.

Tour operators warning people to make sure they drink lots of water and not stay in sun too long.

Am looking forward to going and getting away from all this freaky weather we have had in Scotland, it's like 4 seasons in a day nearly and i am sick of the rain :x

I think the best thing is to take advice from the experts and drink lots of water and stay in the shade at midday.
I dread being ill on hol as 'i don't wanna miss a thing', as the song says! :D

Yes we got back last night and believe me it was hot, i had my thermometer by the pool and everyday it was between 48 and 57 centigrade, even at night it was only dropping to about 35, luckily we had great air conditioning in the room.
According to the locals the temps should be back to normal soon.

Apparently three people died in marmaris on thursday due to the heat, they were also advising you not to take young children out in the sun between 12- 4 in the afternoon.

Weather

Postby Kari » 01 Jul 2007 14:24

I returned from Icmeler on Thursday(28th) and I have to say that my friend and I found it to be far too hot.Luckily our room had air-con and we went on a couple of boat trips, the rest of the time was just spent trying to keep cool!!It was too hot to think in the market.I have lived in Turkey but have never found it to be this unbearable before.
