what time of year?

11 Jun 2007 20:29

We always go to Icmeler in September because it is my husbands birthday then. The weather is just ok for me at that time. We went end of June once for our 30th wedding anniversary one year, but it was just too hot!!
It was too much trouble to do anything. Does anyone have a favourite time of year and why?
Thought of going late October for my birthday for a change but I think it would be too cold!

We always go mid June as its my husbands birthday then and it just seems like a good time to go. We also love the heat and just know we are in for a scorcher!

I love August.
Red hot days, this means I have an excuse to seek shade during the day in one of the numerouse bars and the warm balmy evenings were I can sit outside and people watch,as well as listening to my favourite songs and watching the spectacular entertainment again in my favourite bars.
I love the hustle and bustle of the hot summer months.

We mostly go away in September, one reason is it is a bit cooler, and a bit quieter, not that we don't like noise, we like to be able to go into a pub or whatever and get a seat, places are not so crowded but there is still a good atmosphere. We also find that there are more people of our own age group then. Plus my wife can only usually get her holidays from September onwards to April.

We normall go the first 2 weeks in October & it's just perfect. My whole family seem to just burn anyway & at that time of year it's a tolerable heat. It can still get extremely hot too though. One of the first time's we went it soared up to 41 degrees celcius :!: :!:

but this time we are going for the last week in september and the first week in october. does anyone know what the weather is normally like that time of year? because with all the floods we had had in yorkshire i would hate for it to rain!. Not that it can be helped.

We always take our holidays in September for a few reasons, firstly places are less crowded, there are usually no gangs of teenagers (not that I have anything against teenagers, they just enjoy a different type of entertainment than us) and the weather is usually nice but not too hot to walk about. but mainly because my wife has a seasonal job and thats when she usually finishes work.

10 weeks today and I will be on the plane :D

We have been in April,May, August and October. April very quite not alot of bars or resturtants open however time to talk to friends in Icmeler, weather can be overcast around 25c. May just getting started odd chance of thunder and lighting with one or 2 heavy down pours temp about 30c. August no clouds very hot if travelling with young children keep out of sun between 12 noon and 3pm can get around 45c. We also have been last week in October never stopped raining, but had alot of fun. My tip if you have young children go either May or mid September. If you love the sun and heat July or August. Our choice is August or early September. No young children with us.

Middle of May for a week and a fortnight at the end of August going into September are my times in Icmeler.

I can't say which month I prefer, though in May it's nice not to be sweating at 2am! As long as I'm in Icmeler I'm happy, wouldn't matter what time of year it was!

We have always been in July or August until this year and decided to go in June.
I have to say I enjoyed the weather more at this time of year as the temperatures were still hot during the day but the evenings were a lot cooler and it was nice to go out and stay fresh and not have your clothes sticking to you. :)
But on the other side of the coin it was a lot quieter than Jul/Aug and some people found it to be too quiet.

But as Mazz said I am happy as long as I am in Icmeler :D :D

We've been in every different month from May - October, and found that mid May and mid September are just perfect. We found that the end July/beginning of August was far too hot and I ended up with prickly heat and my feet swelled up so bad, that non of the shoes I'd taken with me would fit - so I had to buy new ones (any excuse) ha, ha
