they do all the training on board
you get shown what to do on the way out to the first dive
and then some of the instructors go in the water with you
they do one on one if you have any concerns
great to watch too for the sunbathers
very nice guys
great day out with lunch too
and they take pics of you under water!

Sue

ICR also do an excursion for Diving. A full day around the bays of Marmaris, two dives are included where you are supervised and instructed by qualified CMAS SPCF PADI diver's. All equipment and lunch is provided.

Call into the office to book your trip or you can prebook online at our website.

There's a PADI dive school in Icmeler, they have their own bar ,cafe and gift shop. They take you on the boat(big, top deck for sunbathing) to a secluded bay giving you instruction on the way.You put your wet suit on which is a laugh if your on the big side like me ,get your mask and flippers then swim off the back of the boat to shallow water where you are kitted out with the rest of the gear, then you are encouraged to kneel down and practise your breathing, when everyone is ok you practically crawl/swim down into deeper water. My wife was very nervous and one of the guys held he hand and looked after her the whole time. After the dive we got lunch on the boat followed by a deeper dive in the afternoon. They give you a comemerative certificate of your dive and you can also buy a dvd of your dive which also has some excellent coverage of icmeler and marmaris nightlife.

I have heard all kinds of storys about diving, such as you cannot fly until 24 hours after the dive and not to go up into the mountains either, we have never done diving before and wondered how safe it was

They advise you not to fly within 24 hours of diving cos you can get air bubbles in your blood also they mentioned something about needing a doctors note if your over 50 ( i think ), we had to sign a disclaimer but they encourage you to fiddle the details if you want to dive .

I would'nt advise anyone to fiddle their details. Safety rules are there for a reason, its only yourself that you will be hurting if something goes wrong.

Another thing to think about does your insurance cover you for this?

Bxxxxr the Insurance. If I'd have taken notice of that I wouldn't have been allowed to do White Water Rafting. If you've reached our age that the Insurance companies are worrried , yo're old enough to make up your own mind, go for it

In my oppinion a Good Insurance is essiantall when travelling abroad,If anyone does intend in doing what they term Extreme Sports make sure your insurance covers you for these activities.

When taking out the local insurance that may be sold with your Diving, White Water Rafting,Quad Biking, even Hiring a car it is still in your own interest to adhere to the Terms And Conditions, because if these are broken, medical conditions not disclosed, if an accident did happen you may be faced with a bill that the Insurer may not cover.

I am not trying to be a spoil sport just a realist as been stated,

"Accidents Do Happen"
