I am not allowed to get the cases out of the loft till 4 days before we leave, no were to put them, you see is her reply.

The packing proccess, I am completely banned from within 8 feet of any case being packed.
I have access to my drawers and wardrobe for a limited period to select varriouse items of clothing I would like to wear.
All these items chosen by yours truly then have to be vetted for suitability
by The Wife.
But it all comes together on the day of departure.

Going 14th May and will start packing two weeks before. Husband says what he wants and I pack then when we are in the taxi on way to airport he started "Did you pack this" "Did you pack that". I now just smile and ignore him :D

I'll probably be about 2 weeks before. Will have the cases out and everything else organised well before that, but its the packing that gets me excited. So I'll leave that to as close to my holiday as possible.

Im always packed, think it goes back to my Brownie days haha.

One holiday over, washing out, washed, ironed and packed away so technically I can be ready and off in say 30 mins!

The cases come down about a week before to keep in what we are definately taking and to take out what we are not then then come downstairs about 3 days before and are added to with last minute things.

Started packing last year!! I keep holiday clothes in the suitcase, so wash them when I come home and re-pack them. As for all the new things I've bought, I bring the case out about a month before we go so I can ensure that I've got everything - but packing early has its drawbacks unless I write a list of what I've put in my better half usually asks on the day we're going 'have you got this or that packed' which means I'm usually rummaging around in the suitcase. So a lot to be said for packing nearer the time, but I just like to get the excitement going early!

The day before we go I get my husband to get the cases down from the loft and then I spend nearly all of the day ironing and packing. But I can bet my bottom dollar there is always something I forget to put in.

I start buying things months before I go, suntan lotion. deodorant ,undies etc, and keep throwing them in the cases.
About a week before I go I start to iron clothes and hang them around the spare room, and then I pack the day before we fly.
If I packed before this I would have to keep taking everything out to check if I've got everything!!

I usually start packing about 1 week before, although the holiday purchases have started already, some time ago in fact!

Stephanie and Lynn, I know Mcdonald Rd to I used to work in Pilrig and as an office junior then I had to trek along McDonald Rd if we ran out of stationery to collect some from the warehouse! The Manager used to make me deliver customers stayements too all along Leith Walk etc, just to save some money until one day the other junior got held up at knifepoint :( . He soon stopped making us do it!

I try to leave it as near to the date of travel as is possible but I have already been putting stuff in (just incase that May holiday does happen want to be prepared), it is all part of my going away to buy and put in case and every now and then have a look just incase I have forgotten something that I need to buy (usually end up having to leave stuff as have bought too much  ).

Usually the night before. Why? The dreaded puzzle - what's going to fit me this time? Yeh I buy new stuff - usually a size too small so that I have an incentive to fit into it - but just in case - I also have the old faithfulls. Beginning to think I might have to get a couple of sizes bigger this year because I've been looking at the photo gallery and just clocked the size of the bread. So looking forward to visiting Icmeler for the 1st time.
Happy holidays

I am travelling a week tomorrow, and I packed this Tuesday.

Only thing to go into the case now is OH razor, my hair straighteners and make-up. Oh and my old faithful black sarong, that I just remember seeing on the sofa this morning before leaving for work.

I am going to a Mosque with a Turkish friend of mine, and I wanted to see what I would look like with one of those Turkish Headscarves on, and  the sarong was the closest thing I had to it.......
