The Beach

Postby vicco » 20 Apr 2007 19:35

Going to Icmeler for the first time in Sept, what's the beach like? I'll be staying at the Elif, and from the map I can see it's at one end of the bay. Is this the best part to be in for the beach, or should we be going to another part of the bay to enjoy lolling around on the beach during the daytime? Also, which part of the bay do the boat trips and water taxi's go out from?

we stayed at the blue rainbow, the beach infront is ok, bit too shingly thou and the sea is very stoney need to wear shoes in the sea. u can see the jetties were the water taxis leave from your beach, but we went further down near the canal cos it was nice and quiet, spent most of our time round the pool thou, good music, good laugh plenty of drinks and no ruddy stones creasing your feet !!!!!!

The best and cleanest section of beach (in my opinion) is just in front of the Yakamoz restaurant/bar.

I've seen them disenfecting the sunloungers first thing in the morning, and they keep the sand spotlessly clean - just a shame it's taken me a few years to find the best section! Sunbeds aren't so crammed in either and last summer they reserved us shore-line beds for the duration of our holiday - fantastic! The sea is also quite shallow for a long way out too as there's a sand bank around there.

if you go to the beach go as far to the right as you can and round the corner to Harmony cos you can have drinks brought to you as you sunbathe and its free for the beds. Also the guys are really great fun

Tania

At the bottom of the canal turn right and it's about an 8 minuite stroll - head towards teh big Munamar Hotel (with JOY on it's roof)

It's actually the same piece of beach Boldyboy is talking about - if you come out of the Elif restarant and walk towards the sea you'll come out at Yakamoz.

Thanks Mazz

I know where you mean. We are not really beach lovers and prefer the pool, however, I have read it can be a bit cooler by the sea and think I will try it out this year.
