Fishing

Postby gaser » 15 Apr 2007 00:13

Hello, every one this is my first post on this forum and I have enjoyed reading all the other previous posts (especially the plumbing one! ).
I am shortly of to Icmeler and plan to take my fishing gear (fly rod) for the first time. Does any one have any suggestions as to where I can fish and for what?
Thanks, Gaser.

Hiya, dont know how much use this will be to you but we go fishing with an English lady called Linda on the Captain Nemo. Im sure she would allow you to take onboard your own rod. She is married to a Turkish guy who is an amazing cook and you can hire the boat for the whole day if you wish or go out for a few hours with others who are doing the same. We went out twice last year and caught a load of fish the names of which I cant remember but it was a great day.

Thank you for your reply, but it's fresh water fishing (fly-fishing) I’m interested in. I usually fish for trout in rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Having said that I would like to try sea fishing from a boat; could you tell me where the Captain Nemo is docked Icmeler or Marmaris? Thanks again

There is a river about 20 minute drive from Marmaris that has lots of small trout in (well thats all I have had) but where there are small ones there are always bigger ones lurking in the background

The Captain Nemo is docked on the jetty just after the canal, dont worry about finding it as anyone will point you in the right direction. As for your particular type of fishing Im sure someone here could help and if not someone in Icmeler should be able too.

Thanks again for the info. Any chance of more detailed directions Admin? Or perhaps a fishing trip when I'm in Icmeler!

Thanks for the offer I will pop in to ICR and hope that you're around, fishing gear stowed in the car boot! It would only be borrowing or sharing the secret fishing spot for a day or so in my 2 weeks in Icmeler, will I need a blind fold? Best not if I'm driving I'll have to sign the official ICR fishing location secrets act then  . see you soon :D

Those fish from that jetty when the wind is blowing from the sea are all very big bass and one of these days I will get one of them in without being snagged up in the weed but the enjoyment is just sitting there with a rod in one hand a beer in the other and the wind blowing from the sea into my face
